He is 26-30 at candy west. We are a top ten school who is 16-39 over the same span. I'm not lobbying for the guy but if you are going to run this stupid offense, he is a good choice to run it.

Besides Gruden, Mullen has been my second choice all along. He had Miss State ranked #1 in the country for almost half of the 2014 season, so the man can coach and build a program. And you're absolutely right, with the offensive personnel Jones recruited Mullen would probably win quickest of any new hire. Guarantano could be his Dak Prescott.

The best in whose mind?

I'd take an up-and-comer over a coach who has likely already hit his ceiling. Plenty of decent up-and-comers come to mind; Campbell, Norvell, Morris, Neal, Frost, Candle, etc.

How would the buyout work?

You need to read the actual buyout better. They massive buyout is if FSU fires him. To walk away is only like 4.5m.

But I don't know if he's a legit contender or not

I'm gonna say this about Mullen then be done. I don't uderstand people only looking at his record and not liking him based off of what he has to work with. let's say we have a legit mma fighter, and other fighters, training camps and talking heads think he is good, but his contract so far in fights states that he has had to fight with his hands tied behind his back. All you see though is his losing record, and think he is utter garbage, so why pay for the payper view for his next fight when he won't have his hands tied up? I compare that with Dan Mullen at msu. I'm not that smart but I can even see this. just an observation.......

Mullen is a helluva coach guys! Mullen would be a HR hire. We would honestly be lucky to get him. Eye bet he would do great things at TN. Better than most of the names I’ve seen on everyone’s realistic list.

Pete Thamiel now reporting that Dan Mullen is UF’s top target. So this may have legs.

I’m “meh” on it. Wasn’t overly impressed with his MSU stint, but we won two NC’s with him as OC. So who knows.
