On 3 days rest? Child Please.
Someone with your IQ would judge a player off one game against someone who dominates lefties. Your whole team has played, not just Votto.
Oh your $15M man is 0-3 with an error that cost them a run.
Actually that is kind of the point. He is not judging Votto on one game. We have watched it play out all season. There is a reason he only had 73 RBI's and 138 SO's. His pay is $18.9 M this season. It goes up from here. But the stats guys will tell us he's worth every penny.
That being said you are correct the whole team played pathetic in the crapshoot game and the predictable end is near. BP has nothing left in the tank, which I predicted when the illustrious Dusty Baker had him clean-up most of the season, combined with getting hit and injured by the Rats. Somebody had to plate runs consistently to win games since golden boy didn't. BP's spent and emotionally worn out from trying to provide some passion. Albeit poorly at times I must admit.
So what happens when it is clear it is not working after spending all that money on long term contracts for key players, while still having holes in the line-up and a proven goober at manager? More of the same? Yeah for 2014.
Votto played every game coming off bad knee problems last year while Phillips played 151. Trying to say he's "Emotionally spent" is garbage. If Phillips can't (which isn't true) emotionally get himself going for a playoff game, he needs to quit sports, take up knitting, and return back half his salary.
He had a meniscus tear. That's it. He took nearly 3 months off last season and finished the season out, had the entire off season to build it back, had this entire season to play on it. That is not a bad knee problem. Try again.
You obviously did not witness the near breaking of BP's forearm a couple months back by the Rats' pitcher. He also has not been nearly as effective since the injury - just like your sweetie, Votto.
