Da Reds thread

I know Marshall has owned Walker but why go with him when Walker and Cutch are up and Walker has a 40 point advantage against lefties vs righties for his career?

On 3 days rest? Child Please.

Wouldn't his next day to go have been tomorrow if they had played everyday since he last pitched? If the plan was to go to the pen for most of the game anyways why not try and get maybe 4 innings out of Bailey if he could go. Not like he would be going out to there to throw 100 plus pitches. Not ideal, but would have trusted that over a guy who has thrown so few innings coming off an injury. Bailey may not have wanted to do that, idk.

0 for 3 for the 22million man 4 pitch strike out:loco:

Someone with your IQ would judge a player off one game against someone who dominates lefties. Your whole team has played, not just Votto.

Oh your $15M man is 0-3 with an error that cost them a run.

Actually that is kind of the point. He is not judging Votto on one game. We have watched it play out all season. There is a reason he only had 73 RBI's and 138 SO's. His pay is $18.9 M this season. It goes up from here. But the stats guys will tell us he's worth every penny.

That being said you are correct the whole team played pathetic in the crapshoot game and the predictable end is near. BP has nothing left in the tank, which I predicted when the illustrious Dusty Baker had him clean-up most of the season, combined with getting hit and injured by the Rats. Somebody had to plate runs consistently to win games since golden boy didn't. BP's spent and emotionally worn out from trying to provide some passion. Albeit poorly at times I must admit.

So what happens when it is clear it is not working after spending all that money on long term contracts for key players, while still having holes in the line-up and a proven goober at manager? More of the same? Yeah for 2014.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Votto played every game coming off bad knee problems last year while Phillips played 151. Trying to say he's "Emotionally spent" is garbage. If Phillips can't (which isn't true) emotionally get himself going for a playoff game, he needs to quit sports, take up knitting, and return back half his salary.

0 for 4 for the most non clutch hitter in the N.L. man that OBP looks great now as they are on there way home. hope the brass wise up a little and send toothpick packing and trade votto and sign some good players.

You know, it really hasn't been that many years ago that 4 man rotations were used by all clubs. I guess pitchers are bigger wusses nowdays.

So here we are in the 8th with the 7th pitcher of the night. Simply outstanding.

He had a meniscus tear. That's it. He took nearly 3 months off last season and finished the season out, had the entire off season to build it back, had this entire season to play on it. That is not a bad knee problem. Try again.

You obviously did not witness the near breaking of BP's forearm a couple months back by the Rats' pitcher. He also has not been nearly as effective since the injury - just like your sweetie, Votto. His incompetency in the field must have been caused by that bad knee as well, like tonight.

Ask Russell Westbrook how serious a meniscus tear is and if that is a minor injury .

Votto is one of the twenty best players in the league. Phillips wasn't exactly lighting it up to begin with.

But go ahead. Blame your best player instead of the fact six of your eight regulars don't have an OBP of .320.

Also why does Phillips gets a pass for hitting behind two of the top 3 OBP leaders in the NL but not Jay Bruce, who had no problem having a solid season?

Brandon Phillips through June:.268/.320/.421

Through AS break: .266/.320/420

Through August: .261/.313/.406

Through September: .261/.310/.397

League average or slightly below average hitter throughout the year. His "near broken arm experience" didn't affect him. Wanna argue the shin for this game? Have at it. Still doesn't explain the error.

Anyways,, the Reds just didn't have it tonight. Good luck next year. Fire Dusty.
