Da Reds thread

Broxton signed yesterday for $21mil over 3 years. I can live with that. Now we get Chapman in the rotation. Will be interested to see how they limit his innings. Do we use a 6 man roation including Leake or does Leake go to the pen?

If the Mets do not sign Wright long term I'd think real hard about packaging Bailey, Frazier, and a prospect or 2 and go all in, in 2013.

reds are never going to win anything with baker and jocketty at the helm. beginning to think it was the organization in st.louis and not jock that makes that team great. regardless the idiot sees what needs to be fixed and won't do it, reminds me of my chicago bears.

Really think Hamilton is just a few months away? I was thinking end of this year/mostly 2014. But if they think he is on a faster track, that explains it.

it was a short sample size, but he had an OBP of .406 in AA. If puts of up an OBP of .370+ in Louisville next year and adjusts to CF, can see him being called up in the middle of the year.

If it is just Stubbs and he continues to decline, that may force the issue. If anything, Stubbs shouldn't be leading off.

a good player to look it is David DeJesus. Not sure if the Cubs would trade inside the division, but he has a career .355 OBP and and is only signed through 2013.

somebody like that, or Crisp with the As having 4 OFs, would be nice moves just not to rush Hamilton.

i'm loving this trade, this could very well be the final piece of the puzzle. guys in contract years usually play harder to. i rip on jock alot, but he did a great job with this one.

I just really did not want to lose Didi. I like Cozart, especially defensively, but it seemed to me like Didi had more future potential for the Reds. If that statement makes any sense. I guess I was really looking forward to seeing him play everyday.

Cozart will be a fine SS. This is a great trade for the Reds. Plus a CF and leadoff gap until Hamilton is ready and put the team in position to win it all this year for relatively little.

On the other side of Ohio, Mark Reynolds and Drew Stubbs will cause stronger winds than usual off Lake Erie with all those whiffs.

still pumped. it finally feels like atleast one of my teams really wants to win. i don't think i could have taken another year with stubbs in the leadoff spot.

I could not agree more. The silver lining for me is that Stubbs can no longer constantly be a dead spot in the lineup. If Choo's bat can make up for the d that we lose from not having Stubbs in center than I will be a happy fan.

choo should hit more homers to with the short porch. i'll be heading down 75 to watch them play this year.

Will suck outloud in CF but will look awesome at the top of that order

GABP will make up for some of this and don't be surprised to see Bruce start the majority of the season in center. Obviously doesn't have the Stubbs speed but he's gets tremendous reads on balls and has a great arm.

Trading a bunch of prospects for Latos, signing Phillips, and Votto long term before the season last year and you're just now saying you think they're trying to win? Get a clue.

get a clue. signing votto was one of the stupidest things he did. that is way to much for a small market team. even phillips i'm not to sure about. latos i liked because he is younger. last year, before the year everybody knew what needed to be fixed yet jock did nothing. then went through the trade deadline and did nothing. i figured with the huge signings we are in the win now stage and when you leave stubbs out there to whiff acouple hundred times it makes little sense. 3 years after he sees the problem he fixes it, get a clue. the guy may have cost us a world series by putting so much faith in a guy that can't hit. atleast though he finally came around though after 3 years. i also forgot to mention that we still have krusty as manager and i'm hoping we will be good enough that he can't even screw it up.
