Cutt loves it here at UT!

I think he just knew it would be wrong to use Tennessee as a 1-year pit stop before a better job. He won't be at UT much longer, unless he's offered the HC job.

I think Cut and Trooper will be gone in the next 2 or 3 years. But don't worry we still got Fulmer.

we're probably stuck with Chavis too.

What's wrong with Chavis?? The Vols have a consistently dominate defense for years b/c of him. This years wasn't so hot, but historically, Chavis is the man.

Agreed.... we had to replace six of the front seven this year and then lost him after the Florida Game.

We will be a lot better on D next year.

Two hands up to agree!!!

Additionally the annual salary raise and contract extension are necessary for keeping our head coach from being retiring early!!!

I agree with SWIL, Chavis is a beast. Does anyone know why SEC defenses are so much better than everyone elses? It's because Chavis was the first to bring the 4-3 defense to the SEC. Chavis is creative and usually consistent (when his team is healthy).

I read an article about a year ago where Fulmer mentioned that he didn't see himself coaching for more than 4 or 5 more years.

Is there a possibility that UT is giving Coach Cut the inside track on replacing CPF upon his retirement?

It just seems to me that there has to be some personal incentive for Coach Cut to pass up a job as a NFL OC.

That's probably my favorite. Since he is in the Super Bowl this year will they do new commercials for him or just show the re-runs?
don't know......can't see PM wanting to go film commercials during the two weeks he's supposed to be preparing for the SB........but who knows.

Chavis has grown into a very good dc. First few yrs, he was horrible. I just can't see him running a major program, he still on sidelines looks a little lost at times, watching his expressions. I do think he's one of the top 2-3 dc's in the league.

Pls go outside the program and get someone. No Cut or Chief (both are good coordinators ~ sometimes) but neither can direct a top ten program. It'll be top 30
