So are we going to do this every time there is an opening somewhere?

As to Carolina, no I don't think it's the kind of situation he'd want to take on. That place is a job for a young man who can afford to watch his wheels spin for a few years...

we may go there every time there's an opening simply because Cut is one of the hottest names around at the moment, but searching the carolina msg brds for dwight jones info and there is a great deal of specualtion between them about the possibility

Oh lord... here we go...

Cut is one of the hottest coaches out there, no doubt about that. But really it's too early to start with all of the speculation. Let's finish out the season, see how things play out, and then worry about it.

Of course there is speculation on the Carolina boards. Just as there is probably speculation on the Michigan State, Florida State, and Miami boards. It amounts to nothing. Cut has stated that he wants to stay in the South and wants to be at a program where he can win. North Carolina is not a program that a coach can just walk in and win, especially in the new ACC. The only scenario in which I see Cut leaving UT this offseason would be if Richt took the job at Florida State.

he hasn't even been mentioned in the rumor mills here in NC....lots of talk about Schiano, Jimbo Fisher, Al Borges, and Butch Davis...those are the names that have been thrown around on the talk shows here.

Cut isn't going to go to UNC, if that's the best offer he has, we should be in good shape.

I don't think he will ever be a head coach again unless something happens to Phil.

That being said, the Alabama job would be the only job that would make me wrong about the previous statement.

My neighbor's kid's little league coach just quit. Is there any chance Cut will leave for this opportunity? Just curious.

What would be the best strategy, by UT, is to lock up Cut and tell him he can take over when Phil retires. I only see Phil going a few more seasons.

It had been rumored that UT was going to offer 600,000 a year. Does anyone know of that's legit?

NIce...that may be the best "smiley only" post of all time.

Yeah, I tried to get Freak to post it. I like to use it when people are arguing. Sorta just sit there, eat popcorn and laugh. Like when people start the daily " I heard from my cousin that Cut is leaving rumor".

I dissagree there. If he is doing well enough, he will be here for a while.
