Current Player's Thoughts on Dooley...

Denarius Moore (AKA: The guy who dropped a perfect ball that would have been a touchdown against Virginia Tech)

A.K.A.: the TD that wouldn't have mattered, because we got beat by a better team(team with more depth) If you think that loss was because of that play, you are sadly mistaken. People drop passes, Peyton throws int's, let it go!!!!!!!!

Welcome to ROCKY TOP CDD!! GBO

Kiffin obviously doesn't know about strength and conditioning.

Otherwise his whole defense and offensive line wouldn't have been hurt.

He kicked six offensive lineman off the team -- that's different. But regarding OL he did do more with less than our previous coaches. Maybe all the credit goes to the Coach Cregg... or Hardesty?

Outside LB in a 3-4 is basically a fast DE right? I thought it was odd last year when Monte had Martin and Walker in pass coverage. We could run a 3-4 with our athletic DE's at LB and we would only need 2 true LB's. Am I right?

If the converted DE's can cover gaps, not over pursue and drop back in coverage then yes, but that's a lot to learn, It's not as easy as just taking a few steps back.

If we do move some DE's back then we would be thin on the line. You also need a BIG guy to plug the middle and move people around. If CDD is going to switch to 3-4 I think he should do it right off the bat. No one is expecting much this first season and it would be a good time to learn. It takes a while to get everyone on the same page.

Um, OK. So let me get this straight. Been a UT all my life, graduated from UT, love UT football and just because I'd have rather had somebody other than Dooley I can GTFO? Makes sense. Perfect sense.

If you have "been a UT all of your life" , graduated from UT and love UT football , then you probobly do not qualify as a "so called fan" you sound like a fan to me. However ... the hire is the hire and all of us "fans " need to get behind the program and give this guy some support.

I don't understand why that happened, but it would really help if someone from the AD could address this specific issue publically.

I hope that isn't true, and I agree it should be addressed! The guy is a class act,and deserved a legit interview.

If you think that sure touchdown and the momentum swing that would have came with it wouldn't have made any difference then you are sadly mistaken....

I'm not sure any of the players know enough about him to be vocal yet. I don't think most of us here knew who this guy was until today. Seems that people in Louisiana knows who he is and also has a lot of respect for him. He's here, so we'll find out soon enough what the players think of him.

With the Vols #1 coaching prospect Muschamp giving AD Hamilton a heads up too Dooley should suffice any Volnation fan who wanted a "big" name candidate that Dooley is such that.

He will be a Stud SEC head coach in the future period

Guys, i was reading the La tech bio. looks like 6 of his starters we hurt this year half way through and were out the rest of the season. Says it was right before the Utah State game. Also says that the team was really getting better. This also contributes to the last season win record as they lost 5 of the last 6 due to this. Hard to win when you lose 6 of your starters and you have their kind of depth. I think this guy is gonna be good!

So true ... and he lost three of those last six games by 2 points or less. Also, they only lost to Boise State by 12 and LSU by 8.

I agree ... "this guy is gonna be good!"

Go Vols !!!

Maybe Dooley can teach D-Mo the art of catching the freaking ball. He needs to wait and give Dooley a chance before he gets all pissed off over this.

Denarius made some of the best catches of the year in 2009! Don't define his career by one big drop in the Chik-fil-a bowl. It's not like it was the SEC Championship game...Chik-fil-a bowl. A bowl game sponsored by a chicken sandwich fast food joint. Please.

I watched a good portion of that LAT/Boise St. game while on a trip in Pigeon Forge with friends. Their team was very impressive offensively and gave Boise fits. I think a late TD by Boise on after a turnover ended up causing a spread bigger than 3.

Yeah but they make a really good sandwich...

I miss Chic-fil-a so much! There's only one in NYC, just blocks from my house, but it's only for NYU students! I've thought about standing outside like a high schooler at the liquor store.

D-Mo's frustrated and emotional (and rightfully so) because he's now had 3 head coaches and 3 position coaches in 3 years. This is not ideal for a player who has college football aspirations to make it to the NFL. I'm sure like the rest of the team, he'll settle down once they start going back to work on strength training and preparing for next year. Dooley has to earn their trust (they have been severely betrayed) but I have no doubt Dooley will earn their trust and our team will come together and play hard for this staff in 2010. Look how the basketball team responded to adversity after the new year's day arrests...knocked off #1 way short-handed.

:lolabove: Now that's funny...I live in Los Angeles. No Chic-fil-a, at least none I've seen. Closest thing I got is KFC.

97 post and all I learn about "Current Player's Thoughts on Dooley" was that D Moe has some female issues and QB Nick is okay with this hire..........
