In all seriousness (I know, anti-zone behaviour), we have a walnut tree in our yard, two actually. I am going to learn how to harvest, dry and crack those babies!
We had several on our farm. Dad would have us load them on a trailer behind the tractor when they started turningblack. Then we'd dump them in our driveway where they'd get "dehusked".

We always did fine with an old cheapass nutcracker, with the walnut positioned with the jaws of the nutcracker aligned with the seam of the shell.

Granted, we didn’t have several trees’ worth though. 🤪
