Crowd..

I love the Vols but I wouldn’t go to this game either.
If I lived somewhere close, I would go to every game regardless of opponent. As I get older, I appreciate the opportunities to watch the Vols play in person. Regardless of the traffic, our record, or the crowds, it is always great to be back on campus surrounded by Big Orange fans.

When we had season tickets, we traveled in from TX for almost all the games and I wished we had seen all of them.

Does anyone know if it’s finals week? I know some colleges have moved finals week to be before Thanksgiving so students don’t have to return to campus

I certainly don’t know your life, but it’s not like everyone has the time, resources, or money to just go to every single game.

I agree with you, but today’s tickets were probably pretty cheap. I wasn’t trying make a point for everyone, but I was giving my opinion of my situation. We no longer travel in for many games primarily due to cost, but I would go to a lot more games if I lived significantly closer.

I know it’s South Alabama and it’s late but the crowd is horrible..you would think that since it’s been years since we have seen this excitement that more people would show up…
Did anyone see all the empty seats at OSU/MST game. Top matchup of the day and many empty seats in one end of the stadium. Think it’s an issue with all of college football. If we shrunk our stadium we still have more people in stands than several SEC teams vs cupcakes today. Just can’t see them as much in smaller stadiums. College football games expensive to take families to even with discount tickets, when they can also watch on 60” TV.

I'm pretty sure in person attendance is shrinking in every sport.

I was there and enjoyed the extra space. At one point, I could hear the players feet on the ground from 20 rows up. That’s how quiet it was. It was also in the high 30s and the game was never close. The highlight for me was the third string QB. He completed two I think.

Oversized arenas for cosmetic appeal with wish fantasies from the 90's. Heightened video coverage you cannot get from a seat. blah yada ad infinitum. What's the answer? Huge new Jumbotron, won't make a difference. Pissing away millions to look fancy while fans are not so fanatic about sitting in a 11.5 inch wide seat and rubbing shoulders with a potential COVID carrier.

Times change. We need to grow up and realize this and quit spending money to impress 17 yo recruits and not much of anyone else.

Let's not act like this is the only game where fan support has been lacking

OMG! Are you gonna get ravaged!

The days of filling Neyland are over unless we end up in a dogfight to win the SEC East. And we ain't gonna be there anytime soon.

I mean rooms in Knoxville were like 200+... Even like comfort inns. Literally 200-500... This is absolutely highway robbery. And same thing for Vanderbilt. Greed.

Don’t forget the 2/3 night stay minimum. Then it’s gas, food, fighting traffic and people, taking off work, leaving family and pets, the list goes on. Sorry but 99% of reasonable people aren’t jumping through a bunch of hoops to come to Knoxville to watch the Vols play a Sun Belt team
