It's amazing,I don't remember reading anything earlier(before Stephen's start)about feeling bad for Crompton,unless I missed something.I just remember everybody bashing(Crompton)him.As a person I can feel sorry for but as a player I can't.

I can't believe how so many people now feel sorry for him. A week ago people wanted him rotting in a hole somewhere, preferrably on fire. Now it's all Kumbaya...Stick to your belief.

I know that Crompton had to be feeling bad, but I wish he could have stood up on the sideline and given some encouragement to the offense. Maybe even a fist bump to the QB after the TD throw.

Be part of the team...

The fans might even have gotten back on his side with a show of team spirit. Remember it was Fulmer who put Crompton in the first four games -- not Crompton.

I really don't think players need to be laughed at and boos aimed at them, BUT this kid is different like a few others in the past. Some just bring it on themselves. So with that being said, he can stand on the sideline and cry all year and I will not loose any sleep over it.

when I played (years ago) we were told to keep our hats (helmets) on while on the sidelines. Maybe he was taught that in high school as well? I'm sure he wanted to go in, and was making it known he was ready... we would have lost that game if he did go in, but... he was ready none the less

They way I see it everyone was up in arms because they wanted him on the bench. Now that he is, why continue to humiliate him? He's earned his place on the bench, but he hasn't earned extended ridicule. Unless he steps foot on the field leave him alone.

Very true. As bad as it is for us fans to see UT doing so poorly imagine how it must be for him. He's a lifelong fan and the player most responsible for our terrible season. Some of his comments pissed me off but I wouldn't wish his season on anybody.
