Just wondering what everyone's opinion is on if Crompton gets drafted and if so what round?

Very late if at all, but I wish him the best and hope he can continue his success he had this year in the NFL.

I don't think he'll get drafted. He has the physical tools, for sure, but I just don't see a team overlooking all but the last 7 games of the guy's career.

I think he'll certainly make it into a camp and maybe even a practice squad just because the scouts will drool over his fastball, but I don't see him having a long career in the NFL.

1/2 of the field doesn't work so well at the next level.

He won't get drafted, but he might get an offer to rookie camp or somthing and sign as an undrafted free agent. If he does make it I hate to say it he will be a journey man and jump from team to team

he's improved quite a bit, and has the physical talent to make it...but i just don't see him being a QB in the nfl because he still struggles going through progressions and making decisions

one of the best turnarounds, if not the best i've ever seen though gotta give him credit for that

If he goes to the combine and has a great showing then yeah maybe a late draft pick. If that happened then Kiffin is a magic maker because i sure was one of his biggest bashers calling him ocho stinko, 2 hop crompton and many more.

ditto, he'll be on a practice squad next year if he is lucky. unfortunately, coaches in the nfl aren't going to spend the necessary time, as kiffin/chaney had to do, to get him playing at a level that is required in the pros. if he were drafted then he might get that level of attention from coaches. just don't see it happening for him. who knows he could be a GA somewhere and teach other student athletes how to overcome hatred from a fanbase (fyi - i'm as guilty as the next guy).

Really there is no telling where he might be drafted. Brady, Cassel, even Joe Montana wasn't highly touted coming out of ND. Hopefully Crompton will be one of those type of stories. After all the crap he took throughout his career I would love to see him "make it".

Dont see him getting drafted. Picke up as a Free Agent and works his way up from the practice team. Wish him the best though.

Even with his marked improvements, you don't see him go through progressions like 'normal' prospects.

IIRC, when we simplified the offense for him, in essence Kiffin had a short, mid, and deep throw all in the same quadrant of the field. The lone exception was a back as emergency valve.

If that is the case, then no, he won't cut it.

My thought is that after the turnaround he's had this year, he'll get a shot. He may not be drafted, as has been said, but he'll get a shot.

The flip side of the "overlooking all but the last 7 games" issue is that he may appear to be able to succeed when given the tools to help him grow. Let's face it, he went from the outhouse to the (relative) penthouse in a short time.

Not a bad quality for a quarterback to have.

If he does well in the combine I'd say late rounds. He'll at least get picked up for some team's camp.

He will get a chance, let us not forget about all the workouts that take place before the draft, scouts and GM's can go crazy over what they see. With that said, he would have to perform lights out to get drafted...hope the best for him though.

No way on earth he gets drafted (unless he goes for about 400 against VT), but I wish him all the luck in the world on getting on with a team through free agency. He seems like a great kid, and I never thought I'd say this, but I'll be missing his play next year I think. He's really turned it around.

keep in mind chase daniel wasn't even drafted last year.

I don't know what one has to do with the other. Chase Daniel was short (5'10") and had a really weak arm.

Crompton is tall (6'4") and has a monster arm.

Just because a QB has success or struggles in college doesn't mean they are going to be wildly successful or major failures in the NFL.

Tom Brady was garbage in college...now he is one of the best ever.

Yeah Brady was actually pretty good in college. His biggest problem was a coaching staff who kept wanting to play Drew Henson because they thought he had more potential. They may have been a bit wrong on that.

Joe Montana was drafted 82nd overall. He was way more highly touted than Crompton coming out of college. Crompton should be overjoyed if he gets drafted at all (and he won't be).

He's done enough to warrant a look and a pickup in the late rounds (5-7).

When looking at his total body of work a lot of teams will factor 4 coordinators in 5 years in. Another thing that should be mentioned is that he is a leader on the team... they rally around him (at least seemingly). In the later parts of the season, he did well adjusting the called play, which shows trust from both the team and the coaches.
