When I was a kid, Cracker Barrel was a place for older fuggerz to woof down some biscuits n gravy. My dear ole Papaw loved that place when he was alive.
As a younger adult, Pepper felt like an older fugger because my wife and I would go there to eat a few times each year.
Now, the barrel is a woke establishment for younger fuggerz that will never EVER know what it is like to get their feelings hurt from a triangular shaped game with golf tees.
Life sure is demonstrating some odd behavior here lately.

For restaurants it's about two main things, a restaurant can get by with only one thing though...... Good food, produce that at a decent fare and people will come.

Now, if you add a pleasing aesthetic or even sometimes a gimmick to good food you have a hit. That combination is difficult to produce, much less maintain.

Cracker Barrels problem wasn't the aesthetic or gimmick. It was the food, it had become bland and lost the home style from scratch flavor/quality.

The new leadership's solution was to ditch the aesthetic that set them apart and to rebrand it as just another corporate chain restaurant. Without the country general store and roadhouse vibe their retail space doesn't make much sense.

They could have had the best of both of they'd just have improved the food. That said they can still be successful if they get the food right again. I have a feeling they'll backtrack on some of the changes. As a CEO you listen to what your market is asking for, if you don't you won't last.

I do know that the hard wooden chairs have been show to increase the number of turns of a table during dining hours.

Heck, I probably would never go to a CB unless I'm with a group traveling or someone wants to go there. Its okay and pretty simple, but not sure how doing all this rebranding would increase sales drastically. Knowing your customer and there is always max potential.

Let's watch Tombstone and take out the western theme. 😂

Well, I am a 40 year patron of the chain and have eaten there even this year; but my visits have dropped precipitously due to a drop in food quality. I think I have earned the right to complain.

Lol, so you want to complain about the logo, even though you don't eat there because the food is crap?

Did you also complain when Tampax changed their logo?
