On the Philip Fulmer show, Fulmer made a comment that he had no idea why the defense was playing so far off UGA that early in the game....someone explain this please. Shouldn't he know? If not, doesn't he know that Chavis should know? Don't they talk? What's happening?!!

because they don't want the dbs giving up long TD passes, it's as simple as that. That's why it's so hard to throw long TD passes anymore, because the safeties are 20 yards deep when the ball is snapped. If the coaches didn't want the DBs playing so far off the receivers, then it would be pretty damn simple to spot it and pretty damn simple to tell them on the sidelines to play more bump and run. But they apparently don't.
