Cowherd....

If CBJ starts off the season 2-3, you better believe he'll be feeling heat. I'm expecting a 4-1 start, however.

I think UT would absolutely fire Butch for a bad season. I just don't think we'll have a bad season.

I don't think we will either. I believe this team is going to do better than what some who want Jones gone hope for.

I also wonder if some of this talk is designed to blow up the 2018 recruiting class.

Cowherd is actually a fan.

He has been in the past. I believe what bearded said was correct. I think he lost some money on the VOLS last year, and this year he needs to create some drama and stir up the ratings so it makes sense. He needs a hot take. Most in the media have no idea what is happening with VOLS football right now. They don't know we are actually deeper and more gelled this year then years past. We are flying under the radar. As the season gets closer the talk is going to get more intense. It's up to the fan base to keep their heads together until the press starts to recognize. They just don't know what to make of us because we ARE different then years past. We need to think of that as an opportunity.

While I think he wouldn't be fired week 4, if he loses to GT and UF- people will be calling for his firing. And justifiably so IMO.

After firing Fulmer during the season, I hope UT has learned a lesson to wait until th season is over and then make the move.

Why? I'd rather get a head start on the coaching search. When you're schedule is front loaded, you can make the necessary decisions early.

That head start worked wonders for South Carolina....

And waiting until the end of the season really helped Dooley get things rolling in 2012.

Whats your point? What must be done inevitably should be done immediately. If Tennessee loses to GT, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, the only reason to keep him is if you don't want to make a change and you just hope you can trick simpletons into thinking Butch is turning it around by beating the trash at the end of the schedule.

My point is currently the head coach of South Carolina....

But Spurrier resigned early specifically to give South Carolina the advantage in a coaching search....they bumble *****ed that alllll up. They missed on Tom Herman, missed on Justin Fuente....missed missed missed....and 'snagged' Muschamp.

And the guy making the coach hire is an ex-national championship winning baseball coach....and even he messed that hire up. Imagine what a 1st year AD would do to a coaching hire.....Jesus. I tremble thinking about that....

Oh. Add to that LSU. They fired a national championship winning coach and now they have The water boy as a head coach.

Usually works out awesome.

Im not the smartest person in the world but Ive learned not to respect the opinions of racists. The way Cowherd treats John Wall is disrespectful.

I don't really understand this saying. You're going to die inevitably. Are you trying to bury yourself immediately?

Seriously. That saying doesn't make much sense to me.

Cowheard works for a network that has no sec football tv contracts. Does anyone take what he says about the sec, other than irrational bamers, seriously? Does anyone really think, outside of irrational bamers, that he would say anything positive about SEC teams? He's a homer for Fox. That is the big12 and PAC 12. No one else.

I think he is big on Auburn, UGA, and UF this season so I really don't think he is a FOx Sports homer.

Dude, you're really not this stupid are you?

You really think he can claim to be a college football expert and totally trash the entire sec? He's got to have a couple teams (3 in this case) that he touts. Otherwise he would completely blow his cover.

He's been anti bama since he went over there. How has that turned out for him.

Wait...

So the "Defenders of Butch" and some "Pumpers" are OK with losing to UF since the "All-knowing-media" picked them ahead of UT.... But are OK with getting rid of Butch should UT start the season 2-3?

Let's face it, as much as I dislike Cowherd, he has one thing right. It's hard to be a Butch supporter.

That's even when you might want to. He has proven to make very questionable coaching decisions on the field, appears to have zero accountability for his failures and offers no more to his fanbase and National media than a painful barrage of the same ol' cliche's and "coach speak" that is mind numbing.

That being said, Butch is safe this season barring scandal or complete collapse. There's no escaping ridicule though, regardless of whether he is fortunate enough to win 7 or 8 regular season games. I believe that he brings this on himself for the most part and deserves most of what he gets.

He is my teams coach though and I will continue to support him and the team as long as they are taking the field together and I remain cautiously optimistic about this football season. Go Vols!

Why don't you just ask the person that gave you that idea instead of generalizing many different people?
