for UT, just as louisville and unc did. They jayhawks have some serious athleticism talent inside and out; they play very good defense and, importantly, they are pretty smart with their possessions for a team that likes to get up and down the court--notice that they didn't hoist up a lot of ill-advised threes. Chalmers, Rush and the center/power forward who scored 20 last night are very good //all-around players//--no obvious weaknesses in any of them except that Rush is not a great ball-handler--fumbles the ball a bit but boy can he shoot and finish around the rim. Their shot selection is good. The Vols had a great year, but I for one was pretty convinced that two games, maybe with luck three was a far as UT would go. First, you gotta have a GOOD pg or two to win in the ncaa--that's issue number one for Pearl. The Vols also had too many one-dimensional players--lofton, prince, to name two.

The original question was phrased "could we", so I voted yes.

Would we? Well, probably not.

We could beat them on a good day for us. We were the other team to beat Memphis, and we didn't need for Cal and half their team to gag to pull it off.

Most days, Kansas would win. I thought that all along. If we'd played them in January or February, it would have been a 50-50 proposition, but we weren't playing nearly that well in March.
