It's not could he,, but SHOULD he...Shouts for Shrout: Will Tennessee give the freshman quarterback a look in 2018?
The article says that Tennessee fans are either pushing for it, or they would love to see it.
JG was rated higher out of high school than Hurts, but most services that do rankings are fraudulent and cater to "their" kids. Star rankings are a joke and most in the industry agree on that principle. Look up all those big recruiting experts, most of them have been sued multiple times.Jalen Hurts was not an overly elite recruit. Some services even had him as a 3 star player.
You have an example of one being sued? Just curiousJG was rated higher out of high school than Hurts, but most services that do rankings are fraudulent and cater to "their" kids. You just compared our 2 backups to 2 of the top QB recruits to ever commit. Our backups are nothing similar to those 2 guys. The whole point is that JG is the #1 guy on our roster and that's not going to change unless #2 or 3 improve significantly.
Not talking about Hurts, talking about Tua. They said because Bama and Clemson went to their backups, so should Tn. Bummers and Clemson's backups were 2 of the most decorated QBs ever recruited.Wasn't Bryant pretty far down as far as QBs go in that class? Hurts was nowhere close to being the biggest QB recruit in the last 10 years.
Would you really want a QB's first college experience be behind this sketchy offense? Couldn't that really warp his development? Is JG fully to blame for his errors of judgement, or, does an unreliable OL have something to do with how he processes the play? I'd say, unless the OL shows they can defend the rush at least 80% of the time, don't put the pink meat on the field. (well, unless he can scamper and throw better on the run).
So you are saying that team recruiting rankings dont matter?? So if I go back and look that Alabama, Clemson, Ohio St, and Georgia wont have the top ranked classes in the last 4 years or so??JG was rated higher out of high school than Hurts, but most services that do rankings are fraudulent and cater to "their" kids. Not hard for you to find and not my way of putting folks on blast that have done me no harm. Recruiting services get sued all the time, it's common knowledge in the industry. I know of only 1 that is A+ rated over 30+ years that has never had a lawsuit filed against and I'm sure there are others, but not many and certainly not any in this area. You have an example of one being sued? Just curious
How could you sue someone for not making you a "4 star" instead of a "3 star". No judge in the world would take that case. Beyond frivolousNot hard for you to find and not my way of putting folks on blast that have done me no harm. Recruiting services get sued all the time, it's common knowledge in the industry. Nope, they do matter, just saying not much difference in the top guys and not much difference in a 3 and 4 star. Size speed and strength are the 3 keys to recruiting, not stars. So you are saying that team recruiting rankings dont matter?? So if I go back and look that Alabama, Clemson, Ohio St, and Georgia wont have the top ranked classes in the last 4 years or so??
I understand that Tua and Lawrence are on a different level, I know we don’t have a QB like them on our roster. I didn’t say we should go with the backup just that it’s not guaranteed that JG will start next year there will be a competitionNo
Not talking about Hurts, talking about Tua. They said because Bama and Clemson went to their backups, so should Tn. Bummers and Clemson's backups were 2 of the most decorated QBs ever recruited.
CJP will recruit over him if he can and put the best guy on the field. The ONLY reason that he is there now is for insurance purposes against the 2019 QB. The absolute fear of most VN'rs to actually let KC play some meaningful snaps is close to a psychosis. So if we finish 7-6 with a bowl win, something nobody thought we'd do before the season started, and JG plays the entire way you're still going to argue those two deficiencies against what will be some very solid numbers?
Good grief, the 2 backups at Alabama and Clemson that are now starting were 2 of the best QB recruits in years. They replaced less talented QBs than them. TN is not similar in that our current backups are no where near as highly decorated as Tua and the guy at Clemson who now starts, nor are any of our current backups as good as JG in the eyes of our coach.Actually, he did not compare our QB's to Hurts or Bryant. You said (within our program), JG would start next year as long as we don't finish out 4-8 or so. He countered by saying within those 2 programs, their record meant nothing when the better QB came along. Point being, that they don't recruit backups since they already have a starter. they recruited QB's that could compete to be the starter and it's up to them not to be the backup.
I figured it out. This is D4H!!! Took me a while but I nailed you.JG was rated higher out of high school than Hurts, but most services that do rankings are fraudulent and cater to "their" kids.
