I'm sure this "holier-than-thou" crowd never had sex before marriage or in college. The 1940's "where it was wrong to have a kid out of wedlock, but perfectly fine to make another race go out back to eat at a restaurant, move to the back of a bus, or were made to seem inferior if you weren't white" great times those were.

Congrats JRM for stepping up to the plate and being a father!

Lighten up Francis.

Lighten up Francis.

Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual. But now I know why I have always lost women to guys like you. I mean, it's not just the uniform. It's the stories that you tell. So much fun and imagination.

Lee Harvey, you are a madman. When you stole that cow, and your friend tried to make it with the cow. I want to party with you, cowboy. If the two of us together, forget it. I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I'm gonna volunteer my leadership to this platoon. An army without leaders is like a foot without a big toe. And Sergeant Hulka isn't always gonna be here to be that big toe for us. I think that we owe a big round of applause to our newest, bestest buddy, and big toe... Sergeant Hulka.

No conjecture needed. Given the choice that's what I would choose.

Ha. By definition it is conjecture. You will never have the ability to make said choice. Therefore it is speculation and conjecture.

You are conjecturing what you might choose.

My point is, is that it is pointless to make the statement. Posturing that slavery is worse than term abortion...ugh, I have seen both on medical mission trips. The trauma to all involved is staggering, regardless of the device.

And yes, slavery still exists. If your notion or intent is that the United States is backward or we have not progressed enough, the rest of the world would make you shudder. Even apartide is not that far gone from this earth.

We have progressed and are still a noble and forward thinking nation. None of us (reasonable ones at least) desire the return of slavery but none of use should have to apologize for things done by others a long time ago. Yet, to some of us, term abortion is abhorrent and, frankly, fraught with pain, short and long lived.

Agreeing with slavery is universally accepted as antisocial and despised. No one here is arguing that. But some of us feel that terminating fully formed, sentient organism, is revolting.

Whether my argument stands on it's own merits or not, I do not care. The simple fact that if you had been aborted at term then you could not make these arguments or have this discussion stands as enough evidence. Enjoy life. Every moment. Be thankful you have it.

Not that any of this belongs in this thread, but now you're putting words in my mouth. I never said term abortion. I and just about anyone would agree that's a horrid thing.

I played D3 football and found out I was going to be a father before my senior year. My wife and I got plenty of looks by people we thought were our friends and even some family. Becoming a father and husband at that time wasn't ideal but was the best thing that could've happened to me, it fast tracked my maturity. Nobody has a right to judge him that's his family. Congrats JRM. GBO

It's been deleted maybe and I was without signal for days (can't find my original on mobile anyways).Thought you said you would choose that over a lifetime of slavery? Maybe just how I read it as where what others were implying prior to your response. Whatever at this point, they both suck

I'll just drop it then. Out of the loop for a few days and trying to catch up. Agreed, thread never should have went to race or abortion. Congrats to JRM
