He coached in the damn MAC, I fail to see where that isn't at least comparable.

And remind me when he went straight to a top ten to top 20 job in the country from the MAC. He put together a pretty dam good track record before Florida....

And, for the record, Sumlin will have as many BCS games on his resume as Urban Meyer did when he was hired by Florida, here in about a month.

And if he goes against anyone half-way decent he will a BCS beating on there as well.

Then why be a dick? Who else was being stupid. Do you have any thoughts on the rumor itself?

dude, seriously, I wasn't calling you stupid. Get over it.

I'm simply pointing out how many reactionary posts and threads there have been on here. If you couldn't look outside, you'd swear the sky has fallen by the amount of "reports" that are out there.

Seriously didn't mean to be a dick...I'm just trying to find some humor in all of this.

And in times like this, Bill F'in Murray is always the cure.

Yes. Yes it is. Oh, were you trying to be sarcastic?

Who outside of Utah and TCU had consistently played at a high level in that conference? And I am giving you TCU, despite their not being near the program they are now during Meyer's tenure.

Edit: Sorry, add BYU. The point remains.

Emainvol.. why do you constantly push the notion of Sumlin being next in line? Its almost like you enjoy cheering for a subpar football team. The coach is garbage. Dooley is better. Period.

How can you say that after this week?

I am not pushing it. This is a rumor. I have now heard it three times from three different places in 24 hours. One of those, I have no reason not to believe. It is still a rumor until someone proves otherwise. It may or may not be true.

I am not getting into the better coach argument. I could care less how you feel about the guy, that isn't the point of the thread.

I think you're still taking a chance with a guy like Sumlin. It is, however, a better chance than what Dooley was. Sumlin, at least has a record of winning. Dooley didn't/doesn't

The dregs are bad, but having TCU and BYU on your schedule every year is a lot tougher than Hawai'i, Nevada, and Fresno. Takes good coaching to win the MWC.

You are taking a chance of Sumlin. Just like 97% of the coaches out there.

Well, the MWC is adding Nevada and Fresno. Also, Hawaii went to a BCS bowl in that general time period. They got killed, but they were no pushover comparatively speaking.

You are taking less of a chance with him than some of the names I have seen floating around.

Agree. Out of all the mid-major guys, he probably is the best one.

Of course, we could have had him in January 2010, but the guy who made that decision is gone.

I doubt Hart makes a change but I doubt he runs it by any of the internet insiders like Hubbs or Fortenberry who have said Dooley will be back. Bottomline, no one knows anything except Hart and a select few close to the program.

Dooley coached a terrible game and I agree, my confidence has lessened tremendously in him. However, I honestly see no solution to the problem with Kevin Sumlin... Keenum has made him

Even then, Sumlin has proven more than Dooley.

And I can say Sumlin made Keenum. It can go both ways.
