Confident Oklahoma Fans

All this talk about playing at Neyland.... but seriously how many losses have the Volunteers had "at Neyland" these last 5 years? Of course on the other hand how many losses has Oklahoma had on the road these last five years. (actually about a third) Oklahoma is preparing though, special audio equipment has been brought in and as for the vibrations of the stadiums...hell didnt you know Oklahoma is the new earthquake capital of the US... especially on saturdays :)

Anyway the posts here and there are all in fun. Nothing personal as far as Im concerned. Lets have a great game and pray the injuries are a minimum on both teams. We both have a long season to go and quality conference opponents ahead we need to be healthy for.

Florida plays here every other year. Oklahoma doesn't. And no our crowd isn't what Tennessee is most relying on. Their PLAYERS will be the ones being relied on. Don't be a clown.

So FL plays there every year. Blah blah blah. It's Neyland Stadium, not the freakin' Vatican. Calm down, hero.

Lol @ the Peyton Manning comment for 2 reasons. 1. Eric Berry. 2. When is he last time he Okie signed anyone with at level of talent? Brian Bosworth?

Maybe OU should consult the 2006 Cal team about what it's like to play in Neyland

Ill never forgive my cousin for having his wedding on that very day. Me and my brother snuck in headphones to try to listen to the game. By the time we got outta there we were excited to turn on the radio and find out the game was already out of reach but were pissed about having to miss it.

Turns out it was one of those games you didn't want to miss. He will have to answer for it one of these days.

Bull****. The question was if past venues will help the team of Oklahoma handle Tennessees environment. It's a damn softball of a question for him not to be a prick. Instead he chose to have a dismissive tone that wasn't necessary. It wasn't an aggressive question but rather a way for stoops to simply say "it will definitely help. Those experiences are invaluable when going into a venue like Neyland" it doesn't piss off an entire fan base and it's not a cop out. He's just a prick and poked a bear that didn't need poking. We will talk come Sunday.

You also play in front of 96K that is split 50 50 if you're referring to Texas. Not even close to 96K opposing fans. Stop with the ignorance. Vols dont mention OU as intimidating because they have 17-18k more seats so relative to neyland, no its not intimidating and that is understandable.

Bryant-Denny, BH Griffin, Jordan-Hare and Sanford all hold more and Carolina is practically a wash. So we experience larger, louder and rougher crowds than OU on a weekly basis.

I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck Saturday. I can tell you that OU fans with any brain at all are not overlooking y'all. You guys have brought in some top level talent and I think Saturday is going to be one heck of a game. You guys have a great site with fans who know their football and that is extremely refreshing. Good luck to you guys throughout the season.

As a Sooner fan, I'm confident -- but Tennessee fans should be confident as well. With two good teams, this game's a toss-up. It'll be a good one. I'm excited to make the trip to Knoxville for it.

This stuff is kinda funny. This game will be close and the crowd noise will most definitely be a factor! It won't be the whole game, but it should be good for 2-3 penalties and a wasted timeout in each half as the clock winds down. Neyland hasn't exactly been a snake pit the last several years, but it should rattle some of the younger players in the first part of the game. I'd be surprised if your QB didn't have a good game and make a few big plays, that's the thing I'm most concerned about. If I was a Vols fan, I'd be confident in winning the game. I can see why OU fans are confident too. Both teams will play much better than last week and it'll be a helluva game! BOOMER! :rock

For the last 3 years OU is 13-2 (.867) in true road games. In the last 5 years they are 19-6 (.760). During that period they have wins at Baylor, at TCU, at Notre Dame and at Florida State all but TCU were double digit wins. Not a bad road record by anyone's standards.

Thread title is confusing me...
Do I come in here and be confident like the title is talking to me?

Or do I be humble and classy to counter the trash talk?

Are we changing the discussion from how OU handles playing on the road in front of large hostile crowds to he crowds the Vols play against. I would change the subject if your initial point is invalid.

Net, net. I am taking 5 days touring the state of Tennessee and the UT campus. I am coming because of Tennessee's long standing tradition as a football power that has played for decades in a stadium seating over 100,000. I am coming because of the respect I have as well as most all of the true OU fans and the OU football team have for all that is Tennessee Volunteer.

However OU is a football program that has played as many big football games on the road as any team in the history of college football. It is poppycock to think they are going to be intimidated because the crowd noise at Neyland might be a little more than they generally experience.

For Owen and Spock and isooner and all our other Sooner friends who are in this thread...

One of our regular posters, NTX, found this cute little gif that you might not have seen in the thread where he first put it. So I'm gonna paste it over here for you to enjoy, as well. :)

You already have our sincere respect Spock....why'd you have to break those stats out for? They don't help our cause.
