Confident Oklahoma Fans

In 17 seasons he had 4 where he won less than 10. many of those 11 wins, some 12, and a perfect 13-0 for the national championship. he has won 8 or 9 conference championships. His teams have played in 4 nc games. He has beaten 50 ranked teams. I think has best winning percentage in cfb in a major conf. During his time as head coach.

All this while taking over an Oklahoma program that was almost identical to the situation Butch jones took over at Tennessee. OU had trouble replacing Switzer like ten. Did w Fulmer had 3 coaches until they found Stoops.

Somebody intelligent needs to diagram that mess.

Really fun treading their insults.....All in good fun folks.
I hope the OU fan comes here after the beating they take so we can have some more fun.

Haha, I'm not the intelligence you seek, but I like puzzles, so I'll try:

In 17 seasons he had 4 where he won less than 10 == Only 4 of Stoops' 17 seasons as head coach saw fewer than 10 wins.

Many of those 11 wins, some 12, and a perfect 13-0 for the national championship == Many of his 17 seasons included 11 or 12 wins, and of course there was the 13-0 NC season.

He has won 8 or 9 conference championships. His teams have played in 4 nc games. He has beaten 50 ranked teams. == all perfectly comprehensible as is.

I think has best winning percentage in cfb in a major conf. During his time as head coach. == I think he has the best winning % of any current head coach in any major conference [I think this one is not true, but that's my translation of his words]

All this while taking over an Oklahoma program that was almost identical to the situation Butch jones took over at Tennessee. == We sucked before Bob like you sucked before Butch.

OU had trouble replacing Switzer like ten. Did w Fulmer had 3 coaches until they found Stoops. == We went through a coaching Dark Age after Switzer just like Tennessee did after Fulmer; for us it was 3 short-term failure coaches before we found Stoops.

That'll be $10, please. :)

:thud:Funny how some visit other people boards and everyone upset at the lack of respect, etc...basically the same thing someone visiting this board from another school would find....:thud:

Yeah, except this IS a Tennessee Volunteers football. It's not really that hard to understand.

So, you know, thud yourself.

Mike Tyson said everyone has a plan till they get hit in the mouth and I'm saying it now Sooners your gonna get hit In the mouth and knocked the hell out and when you land on the power T our players will move you off of it bc you do not disrespect the power T

Slightly negative but I truly believe fans are over shooting on this "DEFINITE" win. Did anybody watch the game, am I the only one that noticed we had some great talent but we were consistently inconsistent. Oklahoma is used to being good, they play with a floor of playing good and a ceiling of being great. I'm definitely calling for change this yr. I say we take mizz, florida, and possibly UGA. Oklahoma to me, is a stretch tho, although it would be absolutely amazing, and obviously will be very hopeful that game especially

Have anyone of you been to Norman. That is the one state that is as nothing as that state to our south. And the people are just as dumb.I was amazed that there was another state filled with as many knuckle daggers as alabubble .

Had a different experience. All the Sooner fans I met were friendly and classy. Any trash talk I heard was in good spirit. I plan to go to another game up there some day.

Don't let the final score in Norman fool you. Those guys know they were a Bajakian from having a last possession type game in Norman.

They ain't looking forward to coming to Knoxville. This team would have taken them behind the woodshed in December.

You know Ed.....we lost by 3 tds and field goal last year. I'm not sayin they're thrilled in general for the Knoxville trip at all...they shouldn't be, they're gonna get a much different, much more competitive game in a few weeks. However, I don't think they were ever remotely sweating our team in last year's game...they had complete control pretty much throughout.

I think OU fans are in for a surprise. We may not beat them badly, but we WILL beat them. They will come in fired up and so will we. Last year's game turned around on Worley's interception that was basically a 14 point swing in their favor. Take that one play away and it COULD have been a different game.

You are 100% right! That was a 14 point swing and I think we would have beat them if we scored!
I don't think everyone remembers that we were there and had them scared as ????

With are experience last year and the gains we have over the past year....I believe it will be a lot closer. Neyland will be somewhere they will not want to return!

Really hope OU comes into this game thinking they're playing the same team as the beginning of last year. They're in for a rude awakening! Gotta good feeling about this one! I think we pull out the W to jump start a very successful season! GBO!

At the time of that pick 6, they were up 27-10.... If we'd scored there it would've been a 27-17 game, still 2 possessions. Problem was, that pick 6 did happen and a 17 point game became a 24 point blowout very quickly. That being said, OU was pretty much in control the entire game. They led 13-0 after the first quarter...20-7 at the half....27-10 after 3.... wound up winning 34-10. We fought em hard but we were significantly outmanned and never seriously threatened.

Agree with you. The fact that they handled us with relative ease last year should work in our favor ....they're gonna get a very different team in Neyland. Just hope we have enough to get out with the win.

True test of the Butch Jones era. They should be cautiosly optimistic as an average fan and rabid fans that scout teams would know it'll be hard fought with no gauranteed victory or defeat. Harder than many vols have attributed.

Kahlil McKenzie and his legs that are the size of tree trunks will have a lot to say to the Oklahoma offense.

creampuff your non-conference SEC schedule

Interesting. Oklahoma plays 9 conference games vice the 8 that SEC teams play, so they only have 3 non-conference games. While I agree that W. Carolina and N Texas are not very good teams, but Bowling Green is better than Oklahoma's other non-conference teams Akron and Tulsa. And while they do play good conference teams in TCU and Baylor, overall, their conference schedule doesn't compare week to week with UT's. They may point out Vandy, but KU is about the same for them, and overall more weak sisters in big 12.

We were simply too young and inexperienced to win last year. O-line was getting beat nearly every down. This year, if O-line gives Dobbs some time to operate, and D-line does its thing, I think we have a good shot at taking it, but need to stay healthy from now on.

To me this is the classic two ships passing in the night analogy come to college football. OU comes to the game this year with a team if they're lucky as good as their previous year's, but likely they have questions in several areas and are not quite there, new OC & QB right out of the gate better than their offense at end of year last year? That's very doubtful, they'll get better as the season rolls along likely, but fresh, ain't happenin'. We should be coming into this game much improved and actually with a more experienced team than OU will put on either side of the ball. Will our improvements surpass their stagnation or slip? I think yes, but that's why you play the game to find out. GBO!
