Ubuntu? I run it on my windows machine, but can dual boot it into XP.....if I must for some reason.I also run OS X on my MSI mini notobook.......I like to call it my Mac Nano.

how's your MSI run? When I go back to school I'll need a laptop. There is a decently cheap 17 inch MSI with a 160 gig HD on newegg that I am pondering.

So...I have tried everything posted in here and nothing has worked. Any other suggestions? I am pretty stupid when it comes to stuff like this.

I don't get credit for this, because it's posted somewhere else on here, but go here and follow this step by step:

if you find that you can't download some of the programs, try renaming them to something totally basic, like utvol0427. Some new spyware programs can somehow prevent you from loading certain program names.

It runs just fine.I upgraded the ram in it,and installed a bigger HDD that I had laying around. The is the first MSI that I've ever owned. It runs off the Atom processor (netbook) so it's not very powerful, but it does a fine job for surfing, email, etc.

the one I was looking at had 4 gigs of RAM, 160 HDD and a intel core 2 duo processor. Hoping I'll have an excuse to buy it soon. How'd you get OSX running on it?

yeah, I'm quoting myself because I'm curious if 0427 got his computer back to normal.

Kinda. I did everything in that post, and my computer is running fine now, but my internet is still running amazingly slow. I have a wireless connection from a linksys router and I am showing excellent signal strength. I have 2 other laptops and a PS3 that I use on the same signal and they all are still running fine, so it is something with this specific computer.

I normally use IE, but I have downloaded FireFox and also downloaded IE again and they both still run slow.

once you cleaned everything out did you run Spybot and Malwarebytes again? I would do that and obviously make sure you check for all updates.

Does it also run slow if you connect it using a cable instead of wireless? Try that and see if there is a difference. If so you may need to update your drivers or get a new card.

throw it away and buy a Toshiba. I heard from a very credible source that they're the best ever

The only computer James Banks will use.
 You guys crack me up.

0427, you have ignored the obvious solution given by eric... reformat, reinstall. Best way to take care of those nasty registry problems, and crappy freeware that you installed once and never used again.

gotcha, then that's not too bad. Now if you ever see Verizon Fios come to your area jump on it

Yeah, they have ESPN 360 which I have been itching for, so... But right now I am enjoying my netflix streaming movies in HD and my no lag gaming on my 360. And for the first three months it is only 25 bucks/month

I just need to replace the fan in my 360 to keep it sounding from an airplane and I will be 100% set.
