Its happening right now with McElwain in year 1 at Florida. But let me guess... We're still rebuilding, we're young, Derek Dooley, Lane Kiffin... Did I miss anything?
So because he has had success at Memphis, he will automatically succeed at SC? No disrespect but thats faulty logic. Why do you just assume that about Fuente? I am just curious. Is he a good coach? Yes. Does that mean he would walk into the East and be a force? Absolutely not. I am personally not afraid of Fuente at all. Nor would I be afraid if we played Memphis this year.
So we have had the kind of talent on both sides of the ball that Florida has had say the past 5-6 years?
Transitive property doesn't work when trying to predict which team will win games .....but it very much works when trying to figure out which coaches will win games. Typically, if a coach wins games at one school at a high level, he will win games at another school at a high level. Think Spurrier, Meyer, Saban...hell, even McElwain at this point.
Jones just logged his second, lifetime, win over a ranked team.
Freeze at Ole Piss has what, 5, wins over top ten teams?
Like peas in a pod they are.

They would go 4-4 in the SEC at best. That was their Super Bowl today. It is different when the SEC is your routine.
They won their Super Bowl.
Maybe the 4-4 comment is close, maybe not. The facts are that Memphis has not lost in over a year and very well may win out this year and has done so against reasonable competition. In fact, Memphis has exactly as many ranked teams on their schedule this year as does UT.
The American Athletic Conference will go 2-2 against the SEC this year with a 3 point loss to Missouri and a 7 point loss to Florida.
It's just how it is.
Think U Conn coach Flavor of day fired at Maryland
Think Rutgers coach chopping wood........Flavor of day fired at Miami
I could go on these flavors bomb more than hit, that's why they take the $$$$ and run.
Randy Edsall, flavor of the day?!! He was 52 years old when Maryland hired him and had a 74-70 record at UConn. It was a head scratcher hire if anything.
He WON at UConn!...whilst transitioning them from a middling I-AA team to a BCS berth. He was a hot candidate when Maryland snagged him. He simply failed at Maryland...end of the science there. See John L. Smith and Dennis Franchione for similar stories. :hi:
