An amplifier might help the OP get a better signal. You could probably get comcast to install it if you call them to your house. Or, you can skip all that headache and just order one from Amazon for $50 if I'm not mistaken. Local Radioshack might be able to help if you want to try one out and see if it helps with an easy return if it doesn't.

Does On Demand work at all? How does it perform?

It might help or make it worse. If he's getting too much signal an amp wiIl make it worse.

I had a friend that something similar happened to once. Not with Comcast but on his credit report. Another person with the same name had popped up with some defaulted loans on his report. It took months to get it resolved.

My parents in Memphis area are trying to switch from AT&T dsl to something better. It is very unreliable and cuts out all the time.

Any advice? I wanted Verizon fios but it isn't available. Don't want dsl or satellite.

Besides Comcast what others are good? TIA

You're pretty much eliminating all of your options. If lightspeed isn't available, and you don't want satellite, you're more or less stuck with whoever the CATV provider is.

deal with this all the time. Go to Comcast and get a print out of the bill....go to police and make report...they'll give you a paper showing that you did it...take it back to Comcast and they'll put it in the system. Comcast uses it's own credit agency so they can drop it and report.
