College Gameday

Maybe I'm old. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I hate our games on the major networks. They take so long. I feel like we get three times more commercials and prolonging of the game when on ABC or CBS
Do you ever watch TVLand or USA? They have a minimum 8 commercials per break. Do you know how much drugs or Medicare I can buy?

ESPN can cram it. They have kicked us whenever given the slightest chance. Don't want their stink fouling up the local atmosphere.
I stopped watching Gameday 3 years ago. Not only are the "commentators" laughable, that obtuse camera jockey (assistant producer, cameraman, whatever) who makes his predictions is sickening.

This mentality is childish and self-defeating. Like it or not, ESPN is the #1 promoter of college sports BY FAR. Distancing ourselves from ESPN doesn't do any harm to them, but does harm UT.

But yeah, let's pass on the #1 show in college football and all the exposure that brings because we're mad about some of the opinions some of their analysts have put forth in the past. I swear, our fans can be this program's worst enemies at times.[/QUOTE ESPN will do what is good for ESPN. TN has a huge following. ESPN will happily televise us because they have advertisers, advertisers have products to sell & TN fans have $ to spend. ESPN does not hate us.

If you don't understand the ESPN attitude is from management and not just a couple of analysts, I can't help you understand the problem. SMH

Management has changed since the 90s when this narrative started among UT fans. Regardless, you aren’t addressing the point…UT needs ESPN more than ESPN needs UT. Let’s not cut of our noses.

Watching SEC nation with the sound muted is better than Gameday with the sound muted 😜

Even though I am sure they will be at OSU Michigan, I am still betting Wisconsin at OSU. However, if Richardson goes off on FAU the way he should, maybe they choose to follow the Gata to Knoxville. They certainly aren't going to come for UT.
They play USF. If he doesn’t go off, there’s a problem. And that’s coming from someone who’s brother plays for USF lol

it’s either our game or Wake & Clemson. They’re not going back to Columbus again, and they avoid neutral site games like the plague, so I don’t see them going to Arky & A&M. We would draw far higher ratings & a better crowd than Clemson-Wake would, but I’m not sure that will be the difference since they’re both undefeated while Florida has a loss.

So many persecution complexes in this thread. Also. . .
I'd rather "Big Noon Kickoff" come to Knoxville. Gameday has an agenda.

Plus BNK has more guys that have played more recently and are easier to watch- Leinhardt, Bush, Quinn, Meyer and Stone.
Y'all would rather have Urban freaking Meyer pollute our campus?

I have doubts they go to the Clemson vs Wake. It’s locked in as a 12PM game. (ESPN decided that two ranked teams would get less viewership than winless Notre Dame vs North Carolina.)

It’s probably happened before in situations like Michigan-Ohio State, but they usually don’t seem to choose to go to games that start right at when their broadcast is supposed to end.
