Of course, he would have no choice but to say that, otherwise he would look weak. This would disconnect him from NIKE and his power base, never hear about him again.

Not the same thing. Ask most any NFL player that has held out and missed camp. They do not have it when they actually do get in there. I am guessing his performance will not be that great. I could be wrong. I cannot imagine his timing is going to be worth a hoot.

It never was that great to start with. He could run though.

The results were pretty great during that two year stretch of his prime before he started getting injured and the 49ers tanked.

He wasn't very polished but he was dangerous and had back to back seasons with over 3,200 and 500 and a 4-2 playoff record. His teams averaged 28 ppg in the playoffs, for crying out loud. I bet the list of QB's with 6+ appearances and 28 ppg in the playoffs is very short.

The point was that he was pretty great for a brief period, and again, he got banged up and also they devolved into a terrible all-around team. Despite that, he had a 4:1 TD/INT ratio his last season and almost had 500 rush yards in just 11 starts. He wasn't nearly as bad as people want to pretend.

Is Harbaugh supposed to be some QB whisperer? I don't think that he is.

I don’t necessarily disagree with that but the NFL is already catering to him enough by having it in the first place. It’s on him to be ready.

I think it has a lot to do with Greg Roman as Kaps OC more so than Harbaugh. Look at Lamar Jackson in Baltimore with Roman as his OC, similar players, similar results.

Here’s the deal though. The league doesn’t have to do this at all. And Kap could be in the league right now had he accepted the offers he had years ago. That’s why I can’t stand it when people like the woman on this show keep saying this should’ve happened years ago. Well it wasn’t necessary then. All he had to do to be in the NFL was accept the offer to, wait for it, be in the NFL. It’s that simple. He thought he was worth more and he wasn’t to any of the teams. That’s a tough message but it is reality. Turning down any offer was a huge gamble on his part and it didn’t work out. At the end the day you still have a special workout never arranged before in NFL history for a guy that is, at best, a backup and he himself has claimed he was ready to go anytime. And how many teams show up is irrelevant but now at least 24 teams will be in attendance. Kap is damn lucky to be getting this chance, period.

Nobody said the league has to do anything. They're doing it for the optics and we can criticize them for that. They're not catering to him. They're putting on a show for the public so that people will say "they're catering to him". I'm sure all 24 teams are sending their best and brightest reps the day before a game.

He still has a chance no one else has gotten. If he was truly an awesome player do you think a league that employs murderers, women beaters, and the like would not employ him? He would absolutely be on a team if he was even a solid starter. I get what you’re saying that the NFL isn’t giving the ideal time or giving much notice but there’s always times when opportunities in our lives an inopportune times. It’s up to us to either run with it or pass, pun intended. To Kap’s credit I haven’t seen anything about him complaining. All I saw is he was ready and has been waiting on this for a long time.

Considering that Marcus Mariota, for example, was way worse than Kaepernick and will have no trouble finding a backup job, yes.

Not since the 2016 season. The Broncos tried to trade for him in the 2016 offseason but asked him to take a $5M pay cut. He has not been offered a job since 2016.
