since this past year when they revamped the drug policy in the Ath. dept.

What is the policy and where can i read this. It is a joke to allow someone to fail 3 times and let the kid play. Speaks volumes why these players do what they do when there is no strict leadership.

Failing a drug test 4 times, seems to indicate he's an addict not just a recreational user. I think he may have a dark future in front of him.

Yes it looks like Paige is RSing. He really wouldn't be an option anyway.

O'Neal seems ideal since he can't seem to find a way to the field any other way. Maybe he could get it if they simplified his responsibility to where he should stand on kickoff returns?

Foster probably isn't an option anymore. It is really a tough break in that sense. Coker was great in an open field.

Well, I dont think they changed the drug policy just for Coach Fulmer to allow his players to smoke dope. It is in line with most other colleges. And I think it good of CPF, regardless of how you feel about his coaching, to continue with progressive discipline and his removal being the final step in that process. LeMarcus was given the opportunity and the tools to square himself up and he messed it up, and now, he will have to pay. it is sad, but not life ending for he, and although we will miss his skills, as we have found in the past, UT football life will go on as well. Everyone is saying this was his 4th, but in looking back, this was his third, so technically, he could have been given "one more chance", but I think CPF did the right thing. Hopefully LeMarcus can consider what a mistake he has made, pick himself up and continue on elsewhere.

Man i hate it for this kid and his family. The team will be fine without him, not worried about the team. Im just worried about this kid. I sure hope his family gets in his world to pull him back down to earth before its to late.

It's a bad situation for Coker. His grandfather passed away this spring and now this. This is his fault and nobody else's.
I hope this gets him motivated to start making better choices and he get his life together.

“As a coach, my first obligation is to the growth of the young men with whom I'm entrusted. Sometimes, that means encouragement and mentoring, sometimes it means helping them understand the consequences of their decisions. LaMarcus is a talented young man with a lot of life in front of him. It is my hope that he will look back at this one day as a life lesson that helped him get things straight for his future."

with this statement, Phil has earned back a measure of my respect. Coach Fulmer, I tip my hat to you.

Whoever wrote this for him needed to add a couple "hecks" and "shucks" in there for it to truely sound authentic. I find it hard to believe he put this statement together after listening and reading his interviews for 15 years now.
