Reading these posts just reminds me of how great Dobbs was in the Read Option offense that fit him so well. I remember how it used to look like he was just jogging (somewhat reminiscent of Tee Martin or Holloway - but on completely different level) and suddenly would be standing in the endzone. He was so dang strong it was funny to hear how defenders complained about how difficult he was to bring down. Dobbs brought such another dimension to the offense that was nearly impossible to account for when he was on his game. That type of west coast spread offense only worked in the SEC when you had a player of that caliber at the helm.
Helton's / Pruitt's offense is more diverse (thank God) than Butch's ever wished to be, as Lyle's was one that hardly ever resembled Tennessee roots. This offense will not be a pure multiple set pro-style attack, but it will be one that incorporates much of it, including more single back, under center, quarterback sneak, I-formation, goalline package, and spread, option, etc etc. In comparison, I think it will be much harder to guess what play or formation is coming next. I for one, cannot wait to see it.
