Edit: Oh, it's women? I just saw the score on ESPN. I haven't been following the tourney much the year. Don't even know what matchups are left. :)

Bruce was remorseful. He paid his penalty. He still has an obvious love for UT. It's like a guy who cheated on his girlfriend, was really sorry about it, dated another girl, and tried to act happy, but just couldn't forget the first girlfriend.

I think he really loves UT. I know his wife does. His family was happy here.

Did he screw up? Absolutely. But that was then. He's been out of the game up until this year.

If Bobby Petrino can go back to Louisville after doing what he did to them, then I think we could take Bruce Pearl back.

It's not like before him our basketball program was anything, and aside from that one Sweet 16 run, it hasn't been anything since. You watch him like a hawk, and you hire him back, and you let things go back to how they used to be. You saw what he did recruiting wise at Auburn. They even made some noise in the tournament.

I think if you're Dave Hart, and IF Bruce is truly interested, it's the smart move. And you tell Cheek to shove it. The PR team of Bruce and Butch would be amazing for this University.

So my list then would go like this:
1. Bruce Pearl (if available)
2. Rick Barnes
3. Brad Underwood
4. Bryce Drew
5. Will Wade

That's just me. I'd be happy with anyone on that list.

And yes, I know, Hart said he wouldn't hire anyone with a history of NCAA Violations. But at least with Bruce, you KNOW what his history was. There's no secrets, or anything that's gonna pop up. That's my only thinking around that.

Your Petrino analogy might carry some weight if he'd been fired from Louisville, or had NCAA issues at Louisville...he left, for an NFL job after signing an extension.

I understand from a fans point of view, but from an administrators view...ain't no way. No way.

I'm not even going to get my hopes up of a possibility of Pearl coming back. Would love every second if he did though :) I haven't felt the same excitement for UT basketball since he left.

I mean if you're a quote on quote "smart fan" you're going too,and no,while the initial reaction would be "who?". Winning fixes all,and if he ever had a shot at college he would do just that.

Well they supported a guy who has a mediocre track record. So maybe yall are stupid?

No one here gives a **** if he won 20 games at Clemson. The man underachieves with regularity. Take your ass back to Tigernet and whatever Cal's site. You speak with such confidence on the topic of basketball yet you've spent 2 seasons supporting Zo and bringing up Purnell. Two coaches who are nothing short of average.

BTW attendance is down across the board. In 2009 Purnell avg 8476, good for 63rd nationally. In 2014 Brownell avg 7486, good for 64th nationally. In relation to the rest of the country Purnell was not supported anymore than Brownell.

I'm torn. He's not a good game coach. He can recruit but it's Texas. Not that hard to recruit. But he's has good success and the stability argument is legitimate.

However at 60 I just don't think it's a good idea. I just don't believe Barnes could bring the same results here.

But he neve addressed Pearl. To which I fault the media for not specifically asking about Bruce Pearl after Hart was the one who brought Pearl's name up in the first place in the press conference

I think he was hoping the fan base would get it.

Sadly our fan base doesn't.

You either control the story or the story controls you. He never came out and addressed Pearl or gave Zo a vote of confidence when we had thousands signing a petition last year. He hasn't been the best proactive AD.

Hart mentioned that he would not consider anyone with NCAA issues. He was not speaking for someone else making the hire. That is easily fixed with a new AD.

Pearl would be like the second coming in Knoxville. The clouds would part and the trumpets would blow. Actually, tomorrow would be a great day for him to rent a donkey and ride up the Strip!! I could make a fortune selling Palm branches.

Yes, in 2009, when Clemson was just starting to win again, attendance was down. Then he started winning, and 2010, attendance, was pretty much 10,000K a game, with all ACC games sold out. Then he left, and as you can see, attendance has dropped off, and if you keep up with Clemson, since you seem to be super connected and everything, you would know that attendance (or lack thereof) has been a major concern. Clemson is actually reducing the size of the gym by a thousand seats because they can't justify keeping a 10,000 seat stadium.

Also, maybe I'll go post on all 3 boards at the same time, just to get crazy with it. Like I said, I didn't know you were the big dick around here. I guess I didn't get the memo.
