From everything I can remember, he was run off because he was just a boring guy and in turn he got bitter and by the end it was time for a divorce. I think he deserved another year but that final team he had did have a major dropoff from the start of the season to the end.
I mean if people think Barnes just 'stands there', they need to go back and watch Green. If social media was around then, he'd be a meme with how uninterested he looked on the sidelines, with the folded arms and the blank stares. I don't think I can recall him ever looking like he was yelling.
But it is crazy that the guy was what, 5:00 from making the program's first E8 ever and had a really good shot at our first FF and that ended up being the start of his eventual downfall.
