What sports venue are you referencing...letters to the editor? Pretty sure I had access to every “everyone” you did and I didn’t get the same impression...cuz I’m pointing at results purely. He didn’t leave a significant mark at Michigan State or with the Miami Dolphins. When you find yourself making excuses for why Dantonio has been more successful in Lansing, you’re stretching too far.

. If you call Wikipedia sessions “research” bully for your academic acumen. Attempting to shame me for knowing the material instead of using the interwebs is a landmark...gotta admit! I’m “lazy”? How much work did you put in? Fingers sore?Don’t know how acknowledging his genius at LSU and Bama but noting his non-genius at two other stops sells “hate” to you...but maybe you want to keep that a secret.
I'll type s-l-o-w so you can comprehend.....
MSU had 19 years of perennial losing more than 50% of their games before Saban....winning 57.6% with Saban....
Saban beat Michigan when they were ranked in top 10--#7 in year 1...#3 in year 5....going 2-3 against Michigan when MSU had won 5 of the last 20....
Beating Ohio State 2 of 3 times...in Columbus when ranked #1...and when OSU was ranked 20th....
Beating ND 3 of 3 times...twice when ND was ranked....#10...and #24..
Beating Penn State 2 of 5 times....when PSU was #4...and #13....
So--you say--from your own expert memory that Saban's mark at MSU wasn't noteworthy.
But he earned a reputation for being able to take a mediocre MSU team and being able to beat some of the most well known and highly ranked programs in NCAA history when they were ranked higher than his own team. Yes....you will argue that he did lose some games that he should've won--and you would be correct.
But that is NOT what attracted LSU to recruit him as their next head coach. You in all of your glorious memory seem to forget that Saban had developed a reputation as a very good recruiter and coach who was able--more times than not---to beat teams to whom he should have lost.
That, sir, is EXACTLY the reason LSU hired him after making monumental mistakes in hiring Hallman and Dinardo. They could not afford to get it wrong anymore.
Good luck trying to convince anyone with any amount of reasonable intelligence that LSU aggressively recruited Saban to Baton Rouge because he had done nothing noteworthy in East Lansing. Here endeth the lesson.
