Coaching carousel going to be historic

I have seen enough of these teams from the PAC 10 who have gotten into the Big10
You have 2 schools in the Big10 and the top half of the SEC and that is it....

Do you have Indiana, Penn State and Iowa once in a while...does Oregon have a good track record ... sure....

Now let's get to business:

Lincoln Riley is in play at UF
Dan Lanning is in play at LSU, he is tired of being second tier constantly

The reality is a national championship or multiple championships mean way too much...

If I was a betting man, Florida with the right coach has a very fertile recruiting ground and can very easily be back to national prominence and LSU well with the right QB they have everything in 100 mile radius...

The contracts are easy...anyone can pay 14-15 million a year with another 8-10 for assistants. The NIL can pony up 25-30 million. It is just the players and the recruiting grounds.

Hadn’t really thought about Lanning leaving Oregon. He would kill it at LSU. Interesting that FLA, FSU and Miami aren’t all that good with all that in state talent that stays home.

I had not either and then watched the Iowa game.... I think he is focused on success in Eugene BUT if he entertains the change LSU is a good quarterback from prominence and I think at the end of the day guys who have outstanding success are not complacent, they want the next step which is a championship

This may end up as a bunch of fired coaches just trading teams for next year.

And then some coaches will do great at their new school and the former school will second guess their decision.
And there are going to be several teams that won’t be pleased with what they end up with. Too many openings and not enough well known entities to fill them.

LSU
Oklahoma state
Arkansas
Florida
Penn State
Virginia tech
Probably Kentucky
Probably Wisconsin
Maybe South Carolina
Maybe Ole Miss
Maybe Texas
Maybe vandy
Maybe Clemson

Lol at this point I'd just keep my coach, someone is going to end up with 0 options
We have got to raid the portal like our lives depend on it

Lanning at LSU would be scary (good).

Listen to Staples and they don't think they have the funds to get rid of Norvell and assistants and hire someone new with new assistants we are talking somewhere close to 80 million and they can't muster it up ......yet....

I think if they could’ve done it after Stanford they would’ve . I think AS is right, they don’t have the funds and are probably trying to raise them right now.

The affects of all these coaching changes will be felt for a while.

We should be able to end up top 5 in recruiting and have some good options in the portal as long as we are stable.

There will also be a ton of coordinators out there available if any of our coaches leave or change.

I have never seen anything like this in my lifetime and I hope we take advantage of this opportunity.

Speaking of which, the interim coach pulled the plug and put in the #2 backup saturday at Bama. Not hte easiest game to come in for a benched QB. That kid shows alot of promise with a proper LSU O-line. Had nice passes.

I think something like DJ Lagway, Getzlaf down at Tulane or a name to watch is North Texas Mestemaker or whatever his name is ... Besides that they have the playmakers and OL

have you watched LSU this year? Their O-line might be even worse than ours has ever been under Heupel.

they are tied for 86th in sacks allowed, and 99th in TFLs allowed.

Clemson and Vandy have the same chance of losing their coach as Tennessee does. Zero
Of course, Clark Lea won't be fired. But he may be gone if, say, a Penn State or Virginia Tech calls him. He would definitely listen, and you all know that they'd offer him more money than he makes at Vandy. If Vandy wants him to stay, the boosters and AD better find a lot of cash to make him want to stick around his Alma Mater for a few years. As far as Dabo goes, I could see him being let go. A lot of the fanbase have the torches and pitch forks after him.

And should've added Florida State to the list. The fans are getting restless, and the boosters are not happy, either. I have seen stories that there are talks that a lot of boosters are going to go all in and put up money for his buyout so FSU can pull the trigger and terminate Norvell.

Dabo will choose when his time is up at Clemson, not Clemson.

At this point, I'm not so sure that VT is much of a step-if any, above Vandy.

SEC money and what you can do with it is a real thing.

Vandy has all the money in the world. If they ever do decide to actually spend some of it on football we could all be doomed ha ha. $50 million NIL budget could probably be found in their boosters ash trays.

I would add that Blacksburg is a difficult place to recruit. There's just not much going on there. Roanoke (about 30 miles away) and Knox are on paper about the same size. Knox is just so much more lively though. Roanoke is just kinda blah. The Blue Ridge Pkwy is kinda cool, but is not gonna pull in the 18 year old recruits for you
