People heard him compare our offense to Kansas, and defense to Louisville and got this false picture IMO.
Kansas' offense was one of the best in the country, averaging close to 80ppg and incredibly efficient. Southern Miss barely averaged 70ppg, and nowhere near the same number of possessions.
While defensively Louisville played much more uptempo, and still held teams to less points per game than Southern Miss.
Tyndall may play a similar style, but comparing his offense and defense to those teams had some people thinking he meant our styles were gonna produce similar results, and that's nowhere near accurate IMO. That's like Butch Jones going out and saying we're gonna have the defense of the 49ers & offense of the Broncos, people are gonna get this image of the best of both worlds, high powered offense and suffocating defense, when that's not the case.
