Coach Tyndall Grants Releases.

I know this is VN and we tend to be over the top, but damn, it really is time to let go of the love/hate for the last couple of basketball coaches and move on. Let's be classy and just say best of luck to those players who choose to go elsewhere and thank you to the players who choose to stick it out. Hopefully CDT can work some magic with our program and put together a roster that can make us proud next year. I won't be expecting any championships, but hopefully they go out and play with heart and give their all for Tennessee.

I think the recruits and players leaving speaks more to the character of the guys Gonzo was recruiting than it does to their confidence in Coach Tyndall.

It looks like Gonzo recruited a bunch of guys like himself, when the going gets tough you get the hell out of Dodge. Glad we found this out sooner rather than later.

I say let the dust settle, see who is left, and trust Coach Tyndall to build a roster that caters to his philosophy.

Go Vols.

Someone please explain how the current situation is anything less than a total disaster. Non-delusional responders only, please.

I believe you will see us pick up Willie Carmichael, Suarez, Ellis. We still have room for Mitchell or Chilles and one other big. Not saying this will play out this way.

I don't think these guys were out of shape and couldn't hack practice.

I think they played for coach Martin and are upset because he left. I still say after a coaching change it is better to grant release and move forward and not drag things out. I actually like that CDT isn't playing any games with these kids and letting them go.

Could there be a racial aspect to their decision? They didn't sign up to play for white coaches.

I think that's a huge stretch. Given that white coaches are in the majority, I'd say just about every player has played for white coaches at some level.

Agreed! The past is past. This is the coach we have. Let's give him a fair shake and see what he can do. Moaning about the past isn't going to help anyone.

Damn right. Just like he said in his introductory press conference...I'm a no-non-sense guy, there's no gray area with me. I may not always tell you what you want to hear, but I will never lie to you. I will make you a better player, better student, better person.

He did not say the following but I think it's self implied...If you're not comfortable with me, my staff or the style of play we will demand, you need to be elsewhere, and there will be no hard feelings.

I for one love his no-non-sense approach :)

I am all for it if he wins. Otherwise it doesn't matter.

disagree. It's human nature. Especially with black family's that want to send their son's off to play for black coaches.
To deny that some families choose their coach with skin color considered is naïve.

Disagree. I'd say winning and player development are far more important than the color of a coach's skin. Sending your kid to play for a coach of certain race is pure ignorance.

Absolutely, look at his rebuild at Morehead State, we should expect NCAAT by year 3.

i think he will have us there in three yrs but it will be up to him to prove he can build a program. There is no proof to say he cant at this point.

Two points. Basketball players are more committed to their coach than football, so leaving after a change is not that uncommon.

As far as the racial angle, explain how Uconn, KY, Kansas, Duke, and Louisville get players for me?

GO VOLS!!!!!

Might want to take a look at UCONNs coach lol I agree with you tho, there might be some players who make a decision on a coach based on skin color but I'd say the vast majority do not.

And I'm telling you that there are many families out there like that. If you want to ignore the truth, you surely can.

Black colleges dont exist in your world I guess. The students must just all have the same major.
