Since he's the Assistant HC, you better believe he's being groomed by Monte and CLK to be the next HC if he doesn't get hired elsewhere first. Either He or Kippy will likely succeed CLK if this program gets hot for a few years and NFL owners throw the $$$ at him.

In fact, one could contend that Coach O and Monte are Co-HC's of this team, with CLK still learning OTJ.

Houston Nutt is riding the wave of CEO recruiting fruits and Ole Miss idiocy (see Coach Cut) and looking to move to Kansas when CEO's dynasty moves on...Ole Miss has wiffed on two solid coaches...What say you??...Make it a "pattern" and 3 solid coaches when you throw Tubby in the mix.

If anyone wants to know how stupid the administration is at LSU. They pay Les Brains more right now than Nick Saban. That speaks volumes on the level of intelligence going on around there.

CEO isn't going to get "lewered" away to another school - he has the DC/Asst. Head Coach label ready when CMK retires in a couple of years. I think it will be about opportunity over money this time around for him.

As for Coach O, I think he's great but I wonder if he is really head coach material.

Under Monte, and around other NFL coaches on staff, Coach O has a rare chance to really refine his coaching skills, and be better prepared when the right opportunity comes knocking. And for him, I wouldn't just jump at the first thing that moves, either.

It must be a school to which, like UT has a winning tradition..that simply needs to be restored. Something like the Nebraska job, Bo Pollini (Sp?) took 2 yrs ago, or a ND.
Sooner or later, mission impossible jobs, like Duke, Ole Miss, and MSU will get you fired. He needs to fight the temptation bail at the first offering...be patient, cause unless CLK is set on coaching here the rest of his career (not likely), he'll probably get first dibs at the HC position here.

All that has to happen, is for this program to follow the same sort of path Bama took after hiring Saban.

Looks like Slive is in charge of the Alabama High School officials too! With that being the case the Autauga County Lions did not have a chance.
