Coach Mike Leach

funny how "malcontents" players follow him whereever he goes, and then he gets fired.....wonder why that is

how did any of those guys follow him? they were all at MSU when he got there.

each job he's stepped into has been performing poorly prior to his arrival.

I have been watching his teams since he was at TTU. Once his system is up and running it will not look anything like what we have seen this year. Even last night the Offense was much improved over earlier games, but still not running the air raid. Just the 1st few pages of the play book right now.

And how many championships has he gotten? Division titles? Conference titles? Leach’s teams put up good stats but won nothing.

You missed my point....He also blamed "malcontents" and "fat girlfriends" at every stop he has been at as an excuse to why he loses.

Both Tennessee and Georgia vigoriously pitched Daniels when he entered the transfer portal. GA went after him to get his talent and to stop the Vols from getting a QB of his talent.

I wonder why Daniels chose Georgia?

I would imagine Daniels didn't want to ride the pine and watch JG score more for the opposition thab for our team.

No. Leach would not succeed here. This is dumb. It’s pretty obvious you haven’t watched most MSU games this year. We’d be in the exact same situation with Leach as we are in with Pruitt.
Leach had 49 scholarship players in the Georgia game.
I don’t know what your definition of succeed is but I guarantee he would be more successful than the three stooges before

Leach has hardly any players and people are saying he sucks?!?...He's got his team believing they can win and they have had chances to win...They scared UGA to death and in about 3 years he'll have his own players and could be a force in the SEC west...We made a big mistake not hiring him when we had the chance...but along comes Fulmer wanting a coach who will play the game the way he wants it played and 3 years later here you go...Outdated and crappy football...He left off where he got fired at...And it will continue because the idiot he hired refuses to make changes to help the team and even if he does he has no clue how to coach them...Depressing...Very very depressing.

To beat Leach, just copy Washington's defensive scheme that they used against him. People love to rant and rave over his performance at Washington St, and he was good there overall, but he only went 1-7 against Washington and scored an average of 16 PPG in those games. Leach won an OT game against Washington in his very first season there, and it's like they figured him out after that.

In his first year at the helm, MSU took UGA to the wire last night. Not only that, but MSU looked better than or as good as UGA is every aspect of the game other than the deep ball, which is the only reason UGA won.

UT had Leach lined up, and not taking him was an AD blunder. I am not calling for Pruitt to be fired this year, but if UT flops next year he needs to go by mid season.

I don't see how UT could get Leach now that he is at MSU, but whoever pulled the plug on that deal really dropped the ball. It's Pruitt's 3rd year and UT is still on the bottom. When Leach has been at MSU for 3 years, they will be competing for the SEC West. Mark my word.

We had an athletic director who secretly flew to the west coast and had Mike Leach locked up. But back home we had a jealous old man who had to get his fingerprints all over it.

Suck up to the president who was in over her head, confuse the issue, get Currie fired, and replace him with you own fat ass and fire Mike Leach before the contract was finalized.

And we wonder what the eff is wrong?

We've got a special kind of fan base that looks at Mississippi State losing dozens of players, sitting at 2-5 with the worst offense in the SEC, and say "Wow, I want a piece of that!"

So Leach succeeded at Kentucky, TTech, Washington, and now Mississippi State. If he can't succeed here, that's on us...not him.

In year 1, where he had almost no practice time, with 49 players, completely revamping a team that was built completely opposite for the system he runs, with a freshman starting at QB they are averaging 10 less yards per game than we are in year 3 with a full compliment of players, returning the most starters of any team in the league, with the 2nd highest rated but most experienced OL in the league.

They came closer to beating Arkansas than we did, closer to beating Georgia than we did, closer to beating Kentucky than we did, and I'll be stunned if we can hold Texas A&M to under 28 points and only lose to them by less than 14.

They also actually look to be improving as the season plays out. We are getting worse.

So it amazes me that we have people who think that he wouldn't be better by year three than what we're seeing now.

The other dumb argument is about him never winning conference divisions or titles. He's only coached at bottom feeder programs. People said the same thing about Mullen a few years ago too. He looks like he's the best coach in the East right now, amazing how that works when you arrive at a program with better facilities and a bigger budget. You don't win 141 college football games at some of the worst P5 programs in college football without the ability to coach.

Kind if looks to me like the coach who got smoked 7 straight years against Washington, except now he’s going up against 5 teams better than the Huskies every year. The only question to me is whether he will get fired for his record or if he’ll start punishing kids for getting concussions again.

The concussion story was a lie.

Dan Mullen was 0-8 vs Alabama. It's not really hurting him at Florida is it?

He's coached for 19 years and never been fired for his record. I'd guess he will get a better offer or retire from Miss State.

if he's doing this in 3 years then you have a point. It's a fact that he had malcontents this year.

I think he's gone in 3, and it's possible he won't even last that long. 0-8 against Alabama may not do someone in at MSU, but 0-3 against Mississippi sure will.

I see no reason he'd start 0-3 vs Ole Miss. But Mullen was 1-4 in his last 5 games vs them and under no pressure at all as far as keeping his job there.

No serious person can say they’d rather have Jeremy Pruitt than Mike Leach
But the issue is it’s not one or the other. I can think Pruitt is underachieving and still think leach is an overrated coach who’s never won anything as his record has shown
