I have 15 years as a HS DCoordinator in. Trust me. The QB matters. I would rather scheme a game plan designed to shut down 1 great receiver than a great QB with 3 average to good ones. All I would do is put robber coverage on him, have my FS cheat his way, and I shut his ass down.

Skelton, Kolb, Kitna, and Carr have had decent careers? They are backup qbs.

Demeytrius Thomas is a college example at Gtech. They ran the option.

Brandon Marshall at UCF is another example.

Bray can't manage the run game and we had no deep threat. UGA saw this and completely shut him down. That won't work on Hunter, if it was that simple, then coaches would completely shut down top recievers with bad qbs.

Some of us just want to come on here and read about what is going on without having to see negative crap from some of the people on here. An occasional negative comment is okay but the non-stop action of some of these guys gets to be a little too much and takes the fun out of it for the rest of us. I haven't put you on my ignore list because you don't fall into that category. You defend negavols' right to be obnoxious but you slam anyone who wants to declare that they have placed them in their ignore list. I'm just asking for you to be consistent in your free speech convictions.

Some guy created a topic on the Main Board for all of college football recruiting declaring his wife was a "MB10." Meaning she was a 10 on a scale of 1-10. This is an almost impossible task (Mila Kunis would only be a 7-8, just for comparison.)

The guy refused to give any proof to back his statement up, so people who I can only deem as 40-year-old virgins in their mom's basement with nothing better to do acquired his e-mail, phone number, pictures of his wife, etc, and proceeded to post everything. Wife turned out to not really be a looker, got roasted, and no one has seen him since.

I appreciate the not putting me on ignore. I just believe in the right to speak one's mind whether I agree or not. If one wants to ignore someone, that's their perrogative and fine. I just find it unnecessary to announce it. That just calls more attention to that postet. I think posivols, sunshine pumpers, Doolyites whatever one wants to call them have the right to express their views as well. I feel that's pretty consistent.

When did I say the qb doesn't matter? All the recievers I named had better stats with a better qb, but they all had over 1000 yards with below average qbs. The difference was about 200 yards.

Calvin Johnson had his best year with Matt Stafford as qb, but he also had great years without him.

Stats don't lie. Look at the totals from when Simms was qb and then compare it to when Bray is qb.

LSU- Poole 19 carries for 70 yards
Lane 6 for 43

UGA- Poole 7 carries for 7 yards
Lane 7 carries for 8 yards

Why did we have our best rushing game against the best d in the nation?

JG beat me to it. Ask the 2011 Colts if the QB matters or not. I think Reggie Wayne is a pretty dang good receiver.

I guess I just have the view that a true fan is a positive or at least neutral fan. I don't buy the argument that the negavols are that way because they love UT soooo much and that is why they are expressing their displeasures. Some people don't like to argue so they announce that they are ignoring someone as their passive aggressive way of voicing their displeasure.

Thats why I said, it doesn't matter about the qb, any qb will be able to get Hunter and he will have good stats. That's not saying he wouldn't have better stats without Bray, but he would get his stats with any college qb.

We had the mindset to throw 40+ times/game with Bray. We knew Simms couldn't throw. We had to try to run it. The line is 1,000 times more important than the QB in the run game. We abandoned the run game. I will try to find the pass attempts for those games.

I hate to say this because Im a huge colts fan, not the typical manning fan, but I would like to see Wayne's stats without Manning. I mean Manning turned Stokely into a 1000 yard reciever.

25 carries tends to get more rushing yards than 14 carries?

Tennessee ran the ball well because the QB play was pathetic therefore they ran the ball more and wanted to shorten the game. Simms could hand the ball off, he could not complete a pass to someone in orange.

Sometimes tough love is good. It's worked for me in 20+ years of coaching various HS sports. It is what it is I guess.
