He is a TRUE freshman...I would HOPE that he was 2nd string and only getting to play because of an injury...

The POINT I was making was that we've LOST recruits like him ever since that epic CHOKE-JOB during the 2015 season.

Is there ANY doubt that he could start for us and really help our OL?

Somewhere in there I lost the point you were trying to make....I'm sorry...
I think you missed the point of what I was replying. Someone stated you can’t count on Freshmen O-Line to start in the SEC. someone else pointed out Cade Mays. My point was Cade is not their original starter. He was depth. He was not counted on to be a starter as a true freshman.

I agree that Cade Mays would likely have been a day one starter at TN and would have helped this year’s O-Line as a Freshman. Speaks volumes about his talent but it also speaks volumes about the lack of an O-Line at TN this year.

Bama and UF routinel;y have started freshman on the OL. Bama started one as their LOT one of their recent championship seasons unless my memory is faulty. The idea freshman c annot start and play at a high level on the OL in the SEC is bogus. Really good freshman can, have, and will.

Because they are getting guys that could start at OL not be projects to work into a spot. You better have some beef in the SEC to compete. Simply put we don't. It was very sobering to look at Charlotte's OL and see they looked like men compared to our middle schooler's. Charlotte is a program thats only been around what 6-7 years? Pathetic at what CBJ left in the trenches at UT. I was pretty optimistic to start this year. On paper we looked like we should have been able to at least compete. I am not sure this will be fixed in less than 4 years.

Thank you!! and I agree with everything you've said....I didn't think we were disagreeing with each other...but I lost you in there somewhere...
It happens when you're over 50...LOL

It's frustrating because so many legacy players have been pure busts.....but MAYS definitely would NOT have been a bust....
