Cleveland Dropping Indians Name

Personally, I don’t see how Chiefs or Braves are offensive. Chieftons were in many other cultures. Braves are no different than Vikings, Warriors, etc. It is a group of warriors. Their logos aren’t offensive. Not everything has to be offensive. Indians is completely understandable though.
Marquette dropped Warriors awhile back

It's going to be the Guardians.

Called that one a while ago.

As an Indians fan, this blows. What a goofy name and even worse logo. If you're going to rebrand then rebrand. Kept the terrible block C and made it a block G. When Nashville gets a team, I'm making a full fan conversion.

I still think for teams like the Chiefs/Braves, there is a common ground that can be found. For example, the Warriors ditched all Native American ties to their name and nobody ever talks about them. It will be hard for the Chiefs though. The Braves are already distancing themselves from it with the chop and everything.

You guys can’t be serious. You really think they’re gonna let Chiefs & Braves slide?? Not a chance…

I think they are in the clear. There was/is nowhere near the uproar that Cleveland and WFT cause with their nicknames. I think celebrating tribes/specific names like Chiefs and Braves are fine. The names changed were not specific groups which caused a significant problem.

I'm just here for the white conservative triggered freak out about something that has absolutely no effect on their lives but because they decided it wasn't offensive or a big deal then it's "social justice marxist socialist something something grumble grumble".
