Clay Travis

He says the truth about the current state of Tennessee Football it sucks big time guess you some of you fans are overly sensitive about that and don't want to hear it.Yea he is a dbag but he is right about us.

You're wrong! The only thing Clay says that is the truth is that UT had a down year. Other than that nothing that comes out of his mouth (including Franklin) is worth a darn. He takes all the stats he can find and only uses the ones to make UT look bad. The biggest problem with Clay is that he is clearly a Vandy fan, which is fine, but he tries to act like he's part of VolNation (NOT the site, the fans of UT). The other day he used the word "we" when talking about UT, like he is actually one of us. Clay Travis SUCKS!

You forgot to place the over/under on how many times he says we should apologize to Fulmer. The other day he said they were going to start having a daily Fulmer apology on the show...what a turd.

Yeah the "apologize to Fulmer" crap is getting as old as his anti-Dooley act; though it's funny that while he claims he gets all kinds of emails and calls supporting getting rid of Dooley, he never mentions many people calling in and emailing about how Fulmer should still be coach.

Which is because Dooley not getting it done or being "the guy" has nothing to do with Fulmer's firing. Fulmer deserved to be let go; just because Hamilton botched 2 hires doesn't change that.

I'm pretty sure that the bolded goes into his mouth.

Yeah...matching Bobby Johnson with a 6-6 record and a likley in-state bowl game, and doing so with players Johnson recruited.

It's obvious this guy is tearing up the SEC. Look out!

And what has our coach done other than find new ways to lose each week? And your saying an in state bowl isn't an accomplishment? If Tennessee was in the liberty bowl this year you guys would be talking Dooley up like he's done something. The guy didn't win at La Tech the only reason he didn't get canned there is because he was the damn AD, loser at la tech= loser at Tennessee until he proves me wrong ill continue to say it and there's nothing you guys can say to change my mind injuries youth blah blah blah cry cry cry don't fire the man who wears the orange pants he's so witty in his press conferences. This program is what the coach is a smart mouthed punk full of excuses

It's obvious to me when the whole "I hate Dooley" junk began with Travis. After the Florida game, Travis asked an asinine question about Dooley worrying about keeping up with the Floridas and Alabamas of the world. Dooley answered him in Dooley fashion by shooting Clay's question down HARD.
Ever since then CT has had a burr in his a** about it and it shows in his attitude and "reporting" concerning everything Dooley.
He latched on to Franklin only for ratings. The Dooley stuff is personal I believe.

The Da'Rick story had Clay all giddy on the 104.5 afternoon show yesterday.

Why in the heck did Fulmer let him write a book about the 2008 season? Why?

It started way before that; Dooley told him he sounded like he had "marbles in his mouth" at Media Days in 2010 and it's obvious Travis is still mad about that. He's been talking about the "Dool-Aid" since last year after the Alabama game.

The 25 Best College Football Jobs in America : Outkick The Coverage

16. Tennessee

The Volunteer athletic department is massive, its facilities are top of the line, and its track record of producing NFL talent bests every other program in the SEC. So why is UT ranked here? Because it doesn't have the in-state recruiting advantages that other schools have in the SEC. Basically, the state of Tennessee doesn't produce the quality of players that rival Southern states do. Now, partly this is ameliorated because Knoxville's location is ideal for taking players from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

For instance, everyone knows Knoxville and Nashville aren't far apart at 180 miles. But did you know it's only 214 miles to downtown Atlanta from Knoxville? Just 231 miles to Charlotte?

So there are plenty of players within a short drive from Knoxville, lots of them are just out of state. Toss in the fact that UT has a good national brand and the Volunteers spend the most on recruiting in the nation, and you have a top twenty job.

I'd put Tennessee ahead of Oregon, North Carolina and Texas A&M.

Texas A&M is the best of the three, but I'll put Tennessee ahead until they win something in the BCS era, and prove they can out recruit Texas and Oklahoma for the elite in-state talent.

LSU is too low. I'd put them top 2.

What are we doing behind Penn State?

Missed this.

Penn St shouldn't be anywhere on this list for the next decade.

If UGA is the 6th-best job in the country, then no program has underachieved more throughout its history than the Dawgs.

Georgia is too high. The expectations of their fan base is absurd.

UNC is also too high. They are a basketball school. Football is an afterthought, and that's why they don't even belong in the Top 20, IMO

I think Oregon's ties with Nike are a big draw to athletes. You may be underestimating that.

Tradition-wise Oregon can't touch us, but as a draw for current coaches, it's hard to say we're superior to them.

No way. Athens is about 60 miles from downtown Atlanta and the state of Georgia produces an abundance of talent. The Dawgs recruit against no one in the state. It is extremely rare for Georgia to lose out on a kid that chooses Tech over them if they really want them.

It's a Top 5 job.

Could be right. It's close. I'd give the edge to Tennessee because of tradition and SEC.

Also, Oklahoma is way too low at 9. I wouldn't have them out of the top 5.

1) Texas
2) Alabama
3) Florida
4) LSU
5) Oklahoma
6) USC
7) Ohio State
8) Georgia
9) Notre Dame
10) Florida State or Michigan

Florida, USC, Texas, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, are all better than Georgia, iyam, although I realize ydnam.

Top 20 head coaching jobs are seldom filled by coaches who come from the WAC with a losing record. If anything, I think that Clay vastly overrated the UTK head coaching job based on our most recent hire. of course, these things are always in flux and the UTK hfc job may have some of its former prestige restored down the road.
