Clawson

The players didn't execute well when Randy Sanders was here because he ran practice like it was party. You saw things immediately get better from an execution standpoint when Cutcliffe arrived. That wasn't a coincidence. Clawson deserves plenty of blame for this crappy product.

It also wasn't a coincidence that Cut had basically a two year starter to work with as well in Ainge.

I keep forgetting that coaches play this game and not the players. Sorry guys, won't happen again.

no need to be a smartass about it...what i meant by that comment was that the players (especially crompton) would have had a better chance to succeed individually and as a team in this particular game if playcalling was better.

We are just in a difference of opinion then. When the final product on the field doesn't move smoothly I blame it on the OC because it is his job to get it to work smoothly. You just automatically think it is the players fault. No big deal just 2 ways to look at the same problem.

Theres more than enough blame to be spread around that both parties can share!

Clawson wasnt the one throwing at the receivers feet or at the pretty girl in the 6th row all night. But he was the one that kept calling pass plays when Crompton couldnt find his a$$ with both hands.

Yeah, damn those running backs for only getting 7 yards everytime they carried the ball. It's their fault that Crompton threw the ball 40+ times for less than five yards a pop.

yeah, situational playcalling wasn't there tonight.

Oh yes, Ainge just looked fabulous when Cutcliffe arrived on campus. Poor old Clawson just had a QB that's been here for three years to work with. There's no way he could be expected to succeed there.

RB's were fine obviously. Cromp just couldn't hit the broad side of a gator's ass tonight and if we had tried to run it more than we did I think we would have eventually staled as well. Plain and simple Cromp didn't do his job and execute what plays he had been running against the scout team this week.

Oh yeah, Cromp definitely gets some blame for the poor passing game, but I'm talking more about the poor offense as a whole (gameplan, situation management, execution, playcalling, etc.).

It is both of their faults... Crompton couldn't handle the pressure, and Clawson refused to change.

How much game experience did Cromp have before tonight?? I think that in itself can be something I CAN blame on Cut. Tee Martin did OK, but obviously Cromp isn't Tee like some made him out to be.

I want to appoligize to everyone i told that JC was a great qb!! Damn was I ever wrong!:fool::mega_shok:

Clawson said over and over again his philosophy was to get the ball into the hands of the playmakers. I think it was rather obvious which guys were making plays this evening. Some players were executing. Some players obviously were not. Clawson chose to repeatedly let a guy that obviously couldn't execute fire a pass either into the dirt or into orbit.

I know he played much better as a freshman against a defense roughly 200,000 times better than UCLA's.

I would say if it was only those two responsible for the loss I would put it 90/10 in favor or Cromp's fault.

It was everyone's fault, but as I've stated a million times already, if he's struggling run the hurry up, roll out, run more, anything to change it up. Crompton struggled, but Clawson refused to mix it up.

Chavis is another story...

Every player has a game in which he just can't get it done. In that situation the coaches need to find ways for other guys to pick up the slack. It seemed quite obvious that there were guys ready to shoulder the burden and Clawson simply didn't call on them. Crompton lost this game because Clawson stupidly asked him to win over and over.

i dont know why we were throwing on first and second down. it blows my mind. it absolutely astonishes me. i still cant believe i saw what i saw tonight. i'm disgusted and far from impressed. i'm extremely disappointed and feel fooled and insulted

So your saying that a couple of up for grab passes and screens against a LSU defense that underachieved against the pass that day but stuffed the run is better than what he did tonight?? I don't know this for sure but I believe his combined record is 0-3 in games he has more than just cleanup participation involved.

With a mickey mouse game plan like that, Clawson belongs at UCF in Orlando, not UT.
