So another of Fulmers scapegoats huh. I really don't see that happening. I see Fulmer being asked to step down for the good of the team.

I have to agree and give the boosters and Hamilton a little more credit in seeing that kicking out the OC will not solve the problem. Fulmer needs to step down as soon as possible.

If Fulmer is fired or quits, there's still no way Clawson stays

Name the next HC, that would keep an OC that ranks in the bottom 10% nationally and that to date is averaging 10 points a game in SEC play

It's pretty damn clear that Clawson isn't effective as an OC, at Tennessee

Daves not the problem...I saw that yesterday...Stephens was improving in those offensive sets...There are a lot of them too so I can see how it is complicated to figure out.

the show, with little meddling from Fulmer, then perhaps he should not stay because the offense is cringingly bad. There is always much talk about Fulmer meddling with the O, and I would like to know to what degree it's true. I have no doubt he meddles some--I saw him holding a play chart yesterday, that is evidence enough. Did Clawson think Crompton was his best QB? Was it his decision to start him, or did Fulmer intervene.

We don't have a strong offensive identity now, don't do anything well--and except for Jones, who doesn't get the ball enuf, we're a slow team by today's standards. You need a //good short passing// game today--A qb and receivers and backs who can execute slants and screens and hooks; throws to the TE--and the Vols don't have it.

I don't believe that dog will hunt this time.

Phil made the choice to hire Clawson. And honestly I don't see that much of a change in what we are doing now to what we have done in the past. You can clearly tell Fulmer has alot to do with the play calling. I am sure their is a learning curve with any new offense and having inexperienced QB's don't help. But that is what he chose to do. He didn't have to change the offense this year. That was his choice. He was an offensive cordinator in the past. In his words "it's not like we forgot how to coach".

He made his bed. Now lay in it.

Firing Clawson should have no effect.

How many years has Clawson been there?

How many years have we been seeing this same crap?

If the answers to those two questions were the same. CPF might have a case.

He can't blame the last 5-6 years on a guy that has been there less than a year.

clausen is terrible at coming up with a gameplan. we never run a play to set up another bigger play later on. we don't seem to run our screens to stop the rush but rather to be our homerun play. instead of a gameplan, we have game plays that we run at any time and in no order. he seems to just pick one out of a hat.

you wait and see, clausen will be gone and fulmer will be back.

Clawson will probably not last after this season. he's in over his head at this level---if fulmer stays, he needs to find a coach who knows the SEC.

Boy, the room under the bus is getting a little cramped. They might have to check and see if there is still room for clawson too.

...it don't really matter who the OC is or what kind of offense they run...until the offense line shows up it will be inept. Canning Clawson wouldn't help it one bit. Truthfully , we haven't had a good OL coach in quite a while....just ...smoke and mirrors

The Vols were terrible on both sides of the ball yesterday. Firing Clawson won't do anything to help the fact that Georgia only punted the ball twice yesterday.

No more clear than it is that Phil Fulmer no longer has any business coaching football in the SEC.

No room for any more scapegoats. The closet is already full of them. Starts and stops at the top of the staff.
