We have enough on the roster to win 8. That's why I think we learn a lot about CJP's potential in year 1.
I think 9 wins. He is a good coach and we will upset one or two. Depending on development, I think and hope his offensive staff will work wonders with Guarantano. The kid has the talent to be an elite SEC QB.
Uhmmmm Im Debbie Downer and I need a job and I wanted Bill Belicheck to be the coach and Satan to be the OC and I wanted Brett Fabre as the QB ......Headlines Budddd. All in or get out. You stand here with one foot in for him and one foot out. Go jump on the Bamawagon
Don't know how you get the idea of the talent on our roster. We have an awful OL, terrible at wr,qb, LB. We do have some talented players, and maybe good coaching can bring some of the others out. I think Pruitt is a very good hire, but don't look for him to turn it around the first year. I would be happy with 6 wins the first year, and see steady improvement after that. Kirby Smart on the other hand inherited a great roster of players and he was only 8 and 5 the first year.
We didn't get out talented save two games last year. They recruited these guys at their respective teams. I think it's fair..
Probably, but he was a fake, and a lier!
Pruitt doesnt seem like one
5-7 next year
7-5 2019
9-3 2020 (possible win of East)
8-4 2021 (slight step back)
10-2 2022 (win east, play for SEC title)
This the floor. I think ceiling is higher. I can see next year being 7-5 as a real possibility.
Getting bowl eligible would be great. Will be tough.
It won't. Butch won 5 with a much less talented team his first year.
My floor is 7-5 and a bowl W. Anything under that he should already be on the hot seat.
Like it or not this is a talented team and he has to win. No grace period for him to learn to be a HC.
I will not trash him until his first season. Let him be judged on his own merit as a HC.
We will be awful next year... Not because of our coach.. We have very few difference makers on the roster and not the right players to run a 3-4 defense. Look for significant improvement perhaps 7 wins in year 2
Pruitt has our players tougher than Marines by the end of camp. Injured miraculously healed and everybody on board for WVa. New schemes improved technique across the board result in blow out win over WVa. Head into the Bama game at home undefeated. CJP and staff put together a game plan that leaves Bama crying all the way back to Tuscaloosa. UT wins SEC and National Championship games. CJP unanimous coach of the year. Dormady and Kelly co-Heisman winners...Tennessee's first and second. Oh yeah! VFL!
Hi everyone! Believe it or not, this is my first thread! I'm excited to have this new opportunity. I look to share with fellow Vols and try to, at least, play a devil's advocate.
First, I will pass judgement on JP after the Florida game. While I'm not happy with the hire, I have become less apathetic. I think we can all agree if he's as good as we hope, his staff included, they'll find a way to win that game.
Second, What is your floor for next season? What is the lowest win total you can stomach before you think we're in trouble? I think we can win 8 games every year. Next year is difficult for an established HC, can CJP get the Ws he needs?
I look forward to your comments! Go Vols ya scallawags!:rock:
Butch had a talented offensive line his first year that Dooley left. They may have all been seniors with no one on the bench, but they were talented.
Butch didn't leave much of a line.
