Citrus Bowl Possible.

Bama - playoff
Ole Miss--sugar
Florida--Citrus
Georgia--Outback
LSU-Tax Slayer
TN--Belk
ARK/MSU--Music city
ATm--Texas
MSU/ARK--Liberty
Auburn--Birmingham

that's how i see it anyway.
I posted this earlier and it kind of jives with that article except I thought GA was the main comp for citrus, not Florida.

They aren't sending ga back to the belk, and we're not going back to jax, then I think it's down to what they decide to do with ga....

the sec picks who goes where in this tier.

Just saying, out of the 25 times the Outback Bowl has hosted an SEC team, 17 times it has been an SEC East team. The Outback bowl likes to give SEC East teams the benefit of the doubt, especially since it's in Tampa

Under the "old" bowl selection process the Outback and Cotton Bowls made their selection at the same time. There was some wording that the Outback would give priority to picking teams from the East, and the Cotton to the west.

Update from Hubbs is that Outback is the most likely destination, but Citrus bowl against Michigan actually remains a real possibility. Belk bowl on the other hand has essentially been eliminated.

I still believe that if Florida gets embarrassed by Alabama that UT could land in the Citrus. No bowl game wants to have a snoozer for a game.

Bama - playoff
Ole Miss--sugar
Florida--Citrus
Tennessee--Outback
LSU-Tax Slayer
Miss St -Belk
Georgia-Music city
Texas A&M -Texas
Arkansas--Liberty
Auburn--Birmingham

Feel very confident on all of them bit could see Miss St and A&M swap

This is the way i see it as well. Nicely done EV

I think you are right and Florida and UT could swap places.

I still expect the Outback, but my earlier statement of not being considered by the Citrus, while accurate at the time, is no longer accurate. A definite long shot, but possible.

Can you imagine the ratings? The hype?! I know TN fans don't like pulling for Bama but we should Saturday. A Bama massacre and TN is a higher ranked team. The citrus then comes down to LSU or TN, imo.

The goal of Florida Citrus Sports is two-fold:

1. Bring the most compelling matchup to Orlando.

2. Bring Visitors who will stay for the week. "Heads in beds" if you will.

That's all I'll say. :)

I'm going If this happens. I've got to shoot a wedding the day before and the day after- but I will make this work. Somebody keep me sober.

My wife and I will go. Put us down for 2 nights...we haven't actually had a honeymoon yet. I'm thinking 2 birds 1 stone :)

You tell them recruiting formum legend utvols88 will attend the citrus bowl. That'll convince them

You know Tennessee is the most sensible choice for the Citrus. Georgia has an interim coach - there is no "last game with Richt" episode. LSU has a damaged coach and struggling offense even with Fournette. Florida is an offensive disaster and will go into bowl season with back to back blowout losses. The Gators would sell tickets but in their current state are a decent matchup only for teams likely in Belk or Liberty bowls. The Vols are healthy, exciting to watch and vs. Michigan could set a record Citrus Bowl attendance record. Same could be true for Outback with the Michigan matchup.

No chance UT falls to the Belk bowl. They will be in the outback bowl against Northwestern or Michigan. Start getting your hotel ready :)

I would agree. I think the key ingredient here is that the Citrus is going to want the best matchup possible.

There isn't a concern regarding selling seats, whether it is Tennessee or Florida. The advantage for Orlando is that Tennessee people will not be on day trips for the bowl game. Florida fans would be. The Other team that would be an option for the Citrus would be LSU. Not sure how well their fanbase travels.

Exactly.

That is why I hope Alabama lays a real whipping on Florida. I want to see something like 38 - 0 Bama or worse.

I could be wrong, but I believe the SEC ranks the teams and then gives the bowls like 2 team options. Also, we might need to worry about LSU or ole miss right?
