If you are talking about payout, perhaps so. If you are talking about history and prestige, most definitely not. It can be difficult to trace the pedigree of bowls through a host of corporate sponsors, but the TaxSlayer Bowl was formerly the Gator Bowl (1946present), which was the sixth oldest bowl, after the Rose (1902, 1916present), Sugar, Orange and Sun Bowls, all of which were established in 1935, and the Cotton Bowl (1937present).
