Cimaglia opting out

Hope all is good with the kid. Hate he has to end his career this way but it may be best for both sides. If we're being honest he's not been himself as of late and we may need a field goal to win a game in the near future.

Whoever she is, not only will she have to be a good kicker, but she'll have to be an inspirational speaker as well for her halftime talk.
I would think Go VOLS would be inspirational enough. I haven't seen anything after half time that would indicate any type of inspirational talk.

Girls have played and scored in college football games before so we wouldn't be the first to get scored on. Sarah Fuller was the first girl to play in a Power 5 game....that was the big deal.
I can’t believe people are dismissing this feat she accomplished!!
kicking a ball about a foot over everyone’s head for 30 yards, then running to the sideline like the raccoon that stole cat food GIF was highly impressive.

This isn't how it's supposed to work. I've asked this question before, and haven't gotten an answer but that was early on in the "Covid Crap" era and players were just taking about possibly "opting out". NOW...we have a player who has done it, so I'll ask again:
If a player chooses to "opt out" he's QUITTING THE TEAM as I see it. Does the university get to pull his scholarship and offer it to someone who is willing to play..?? This isn't a knock on Cimaglia per se, it's a real life procedural question. I'm sure there's a policy, I'd like to know what it is.

I heard on WNML this morning that Cimaglia was leaving UT and they insinuated he would play at another school next year. This came from one of the hosts so I would expect that since they're state run, they would have inside info on it. Very different than the spin put on it yesterday. This lends to the kid sees the crapfest over there and wants out.

Wow. That is a very different spin.
Edit: I hope he does well and I'm confident in a different environment, he'll get his mojo back.

That’s really bad if true.
