Cimaglia opting out

I can’t believe people are dismissing this feat she accomplished!!
kicking a ball about a foot over everyone’s head for 30 yards, then running to the sideline like the raccoon that stole cat food GIF was highly impressive.
But espn told me it was inspirational.

How dare you put it in real perspective :)
Hahahahahaha

How sad the world has become

That’s really bad if true.
He clearly had enough of the "hardships and struggles" within the program. Doesn't really matter if he's transferring or prepping for the NFL. He's raised a red flag and I hope the powers that be are paying attention. From his behavior at UGA to firing a coach at halftime to snapping at reporters to the post by Cimaglia. When do you say you've seen enough and make the obvious decision on this coaching staff?

Tell you what I'm expecting. You'll see Tee and Jay move on. You'll also see this one time get out of jail free card that is the one time transfer market in Jan. Can UT really afford to sit back and wait? I wouldn't. This transfer biz could decimate the roster by next year. They need to be aggressively proactive on this and it should be now. Hey, I'm often wrong. Hope I am this time, but I don't think so. The body of evidence is growing and it's of real concern.

Get the right guy in here and you can mitigate the damage in both the 2021 signing class and transfer period. It also would give you a change to attract some talent and fill some holes in next year's roster. But the biggest concern of all is the '22 class. If this university sticks with Pruitt and next year tanks, they'll miss out on what might be one of the most talented in state crops in recent memory. Of course, that's what UT seems to always do. UGA, Clemson, Bama, UF and the like will simply clean our clocks in state and we'll looking at TN kids balling out for other teams and we sit here playing the what if game and talking about giving the new guy 3-4 years to restock the roster....again. Yep, that's UT.

Good point about the transfers @CAVPUT

Hopefully Fulmer will conduct interviews with key leaders on the team and get a feel for what they're thinking. Personally, I wouldn't expect many guys to transfer, but it's worth looking into. BM needs to move on. He made a cryptic post on Twitter last night about how JG is being treated. Being QB at Tennessee isn't for everyone. If you can't take the heat, get out he kitchen. JG knew criticism was possible when he signed. You may also see upperclassmen who've been recruited over seek transfer but I wouldn't expect much. It seems like 90% of the players are supporting the staff.

I agree with the point why resign for the season when you can just be put on the injured list. Yes, mental health disease counts and he could easily finish out the season on the team while not playing and seeking medical help. Opting out the season infers you have decided to stop playing. What happens to your scholarship at that point?

I just wonder if we'll have the dubious distinction this Saturday of being the first college team to have a girl score a field goal on us.
Missouri had the opportunity to claim that distinction, but they couldn't make it happen.

SHE can't get it up quickly enough. No worries .

It will be hard to say how many will transfer. I wouldn't be surprised if it is more than one would assume. This year is a free year so everyone is eligibility is still intact this is a concern for those seasoned players like To' To'.Players who played their Freshman year last year will be the biggest benefactors of transferring. Two years of playing experience with only using one year of eligibility.

Transferring is hard though. Think about all the friends they're leaving behind, unfinished course work, etc. Plus just physically moving all your stuff to another city. It's not easy. You'd have to have a really good reason to want to transfer, like if you feel like you're missing a shot at the NFL or if you feel like you're not going to see the field if you stay. I can see where our QBs would want to look around but beyond that maybe a few backups. I could be wrong though. We'll see.

If you could transfer to a Clemson or Alabama with good shot at playing you need to go.

If you're playing for titles/championships then it would make sense to play through an injury as best you can. But this team is staring a 2 win season in the face. There's no reason for youngsters nursing injuries to take the field. I hope he gets well and am looking forward to a healthy Cimaglia returning next season.

If he hasn't been right all year long why didn't we try someone else. We for sure need to find a field goal kicker because they obviously don't have any confidence with anybody else on the roster! GBO!
BC was the best kicker in practice and gave us our best chance to win. According to coach JP.

Two weeks left in the season and the emotions are so overwhelming you can't muster the strength to kick a football? I don't know if Pruitt has created a complete sh!tshow or Cimaglia needs a box of crayons. With today's kids either scenario could be true. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with this bunch.

One thing we aren’t privy to is the locker room and morale on the team. If you’re gonna see players transferring out and weaken recruiting next year, how does keeping a guy for one year help things?

Exactly. It will be interesting to see how things shake out these next 2 weeks. It's no secret that Pruitt is on the hot seat and will be in serious jeopardy of being fired either this year or next. That cannot be any kind of help in luring assistants to make these "changes". It's also a real blow on the recruiting trail. It's a no brainer to keep pounding that home on the recruiting trail. And we're still talking the 21 class. Imagine the fallout if we have another dismal year next season and Pruitt is fired then. You know the in state 22 class will crumble. By then, one would have to wonder what our options for a new HC would look like. On top of that, you'll have graduation and what's left of the roster after the transfer period to go along with what looks to be a sinking 21 class to try and sell to a new coach. Making the move this season can go a long, long way of mitigating damage on all fronts IF we hire the right guy. Keeping Pruitt is a huge gamble. Akin to going all in with a pair of deuces in your hand.

I think it’s the refusal to admit a mistake.
Fulmer hasn’t figured out why he failed at UT, so not sure he can help someone else.
