Cimaglia opting out

If he hasn't been right all year long why didn't we try someone else. We for sure need to find a field goal kicker because they obviously don't have any confidence with anybody else on the roster! GBO!

You don’t have to opt out due to injury.
Yeah that's a pretty lame excuse. Don't think that has anything to do with it. How many players around the country are too injured to play in the final game? Hundreds. You don't see any of them opting out because of that.

What is the part about struggles within the program?? That's a powerful little tidbit to tuck into a goodbye note.
Yeah that was weird. If he is still dealing with a nagging injury, that is one thing. But that bit about the team and the mental health part really stood out to me. Hope he is okay.

Something is toxic as hell in that locker room imho.

Yeah, there's something to that. It's bringing back to my mind the rumors about internal strife between Pruitt's guys and the older guys, fake leaders on offense, etc. Also reminding me of Henry T's public support for Bailey and Maurer on Instagram back in October, which was liked by some Vol recruits. Wanya Morris also posted a pic of Bailey to his story that day.

Good luck to Cimaglia in his future endeavors.

I think Doyle becomes the punter while Brooks handles the kickoffs and extra points and field goals.

IMO he’s opting out to save any possible chance of going pro because every time he kicks his stock falls.

I know from hearing interviews with other kickers that they seem to deal with more 'mental' issues than about any other position. Wonder if the down year for the team along with his own injuries has lead to what he is feels he needs to do.

If so, I say good job, get healthy, and come back with a passion and vengeance.
