Thanks for the rec! My sophistication ends at Captain Morgan’s Spiced.Bourbon is my go-to, but I enjoy rum on occasion. Blood Red Moon is a cherry aromatic blend, seemed like a good fit for rum.
I was going to suggest your try Nelson's. @Tin Man beat me to it. Great minds....Thanks for the rec! My sophistication ends at Captain Morgan’s Spiced. Also taking suggestions for scotch other than the obvious like Glenlivet. Back to bourbon, read a list from Forbes that praised the Chattanooga brand. I’m giving it a try next liquor run.
Anyone familiar with LA Corona? Got one in variety pack recently & really enjoyed the mild smoke. Many Nicaraguan cigars have a rather nasty "whang" but this was quite smooth. Going to get a box! This morning’s post-breakfast smoke is Padilla reserva. Nicaraguan filler and binder, with an Ecuadorian habano wrapper. Nutty and spicy from first light, developing salty caramel, leather, and a hint of… coffee. Perfect draw, firm ash, even burn. Medium full body. Note, the band on this cigar is large, and I felt the need to remove it before lighting. Did so without damaging the wrapper.

I only know of La Corona as an old Cuban brand from the mid-19th century. Has it been resurrected? By whom, I wonder. @Gandalf

Are you sure its not simply Corona Cigar Co? thats an online retailer that has their own Nicaraguans made by mainline cigar factories like Gilberto Oliva and Fernandez IIRC. Thats the kind of stuff I would expect to see in a blind sampler type thing.
La Corona FACTORY and a place in Havana and in Estelli Nicaragua and makes montecristos and punch and some others, probably some boutique brands, etc too. But AFAIK they no longer make a stick under the La Corona name. Maybe they had some "factory brand" sticks?
This is the real La Corona from Cuba and hasnt been seen since before the last great war and before most of you hobbits were born. I am guessing this is NOT what they sent you in that sampler pack or I would very much need the link so I could procure it myself lol.
