Cigar /Pipe Smoking thread

Well, that is for sure from the factory then - 1845 is when they claim their founding. But Patargas is the one who usually uses the 1845 date because their main Cuba factory was founded then.

La Corona - Blog - House of Grauer - Geneva - A great history of La Corona. Also go through their website, the blog - a lot of very interesting history.

Maybe they have a factory stick release that nobody knows about yet  would be odd for such a storied name, you would think it wtould be in the trade mags.
Knew that you experts would shed light on it. I read that link about the 'La Cornona' history; fascinating. Thanks.

OK, for whatever reason, I cannot save your picture. You must contact JR Cigars for information on this brand - who makes it et al.
Went to my order but couldn't distinguish the La Corona on the Sampler. Maybe it was just thrown in as a bonus. Dunno, but it was a fine smoke.

I found myself in Sevierville on Saturday and I decided I wanted to look for a cigar shop to replenish my humidor. Found Destination Cigar Lounge in Governor's Crossing. Nice little shop, nice selection of cigars at decent prices. I was quite surprised to not see a "tourist" markup. Chuck, owner/manager was there and we chatted for a bit about different cigars and such. Nice guy and very knowledgeable. Turns out, they carry their own line of Cigars, Destino. They have 17 (I think) different blends and all at great prices. I didn't know this as I was making my selections as I grabbed some S84s and M81s. Chuck gave me this cigar for free. It's called the Imagination and if I remember correctly, he told me this cigar has the same wrapper as a Padron. Anyhow, it was a very good cigar, better in my opinion than the Oliva Melanio Maduros I have in my humi. Best part, they only charge $7.50 for this stick. I prowled through their online store and I don't think they a single cigar that costs more than $7.50. Anyhow, check them out if you find yourself in the Sevierville area.

I may have found a new perfect spot for an evening smoke. The front porch. Stopped raining a couple of hours ago. The only sound was Mourning Doves and a dog barking from some distance away.
Stick of choice was the Serie G maduro Churchill. Absolute chill!View attachment 741812View attachment 741813View attachment 741815
I have a pretty perfect place in the western part of your state. I don’t get as much time here as I’d like but taking off tomorrow to catch up on work where I hunt. I’ll have a cigar or 2 during the day and a bowl in the evening. Tonight I’m smoking Losantiville from Straus Tobacconist, are familiar with them?

I did send a photo of the La Corona band to JR Customer Service. Here it is for you, Tin.

That’s a great set-up and cultural experience…just reading. Looking for anything remotely similar in the DFW area. Saved the link to peruse later. If their online prices (and shipping) aren’t too steep, I might order a few to sample.

Update: Ordered four…first dip into “boutique” cigars.

Which ones did you go with? How is their shipping?
Just ordered today. You have to total more than $30 in your order before you’re eligible to utilize the cheaper priority USPS option which is $11. UPS is $30. I ordered these 4. Was interested in the Appalachian Trail but I wanted at least one Toro.

Strauss? Absolutely. I’m in Boone County.
I also have a getaway place in Hart County. Where’s yours?
Christian county , a little north of Hopkinsville is where I hunt. Night #2 here, dodging heavy storms. Got some good work done on our plots.

Reading through the reviews, seems like there were several that enjoyed the West Por Dios.

Straus Tobacconist is in Florence. I like to stop on there when o go to Cincinnati.
Yep, I live in Walton and work in Cincy. My wife has a salon in the same complex as Strauss. Been there many times, great people.
You should check out Jungle Jim's when you're in the Cincy. Two locations, Great selections. I go there more but usually buy online these days.

Depending on the outcome of my recent order, fascinated by boutique cigar brands. Pick up different sticks smoke one and put the other in my new 300ct electric humidor to age. Wife loves my plan. 😉

Still haven’t experienced a Tabernacle. May just order a single on Atlantic.
