Chubb update

As Chiropractor of 19 years with many years of working with athletes, the ACL wouldn't be involved. Most ACL injuries occur with anterior translation of the tibia. In this case, with hyper extension the tibia moves posterior. PCL definitely involved with MCL and LCL. A problem is the medial miniscus is tightly attached to the MCL which means probable miniscus damage also. The lateral miniscus is loosely attached which means less chance of damage. Significant injury requiring a minimum of one year of healing after surgery. That would be best case scenario. Now if the tears are minor he could recover faster.

Also, I tore my ACL and PCL with minor damage to the MCL. I rehabbed it without surgery. It is 100% now but it took 4 years.

Damn. Stay positive and work thru it Nick. You have a long and fruitful NFL career ahead of you.

Chubb is the best back we will face all year. If he can get well he is going to be a great one. Glad he had the insurance policy and hope the coverage isn't needed

Derrick Henry

NO, he is not! He is good, but he ain't as good as Henry from Bama. And I'm VERY glad that we don't have to face Fournette--we don't have ANYONE who could tackle him.

I believe Chubb is better. Henry is incredible but I think Chubb is the better back. To each his own

Edit: do agree on Fournette. He definitely went beast mode this year and has to be inside favorite for Heismann

Heard he tore his PCL, MCL and LCL

PCL means the end of his Georgia career

Likely wont even see Chubb as a Dawg again

I'd expect him to go straight to the NFL - someone will gamble on him

There are only 4 ligaments in the knee, LCL, MCL, PCL and ACL. I would be surprised if he tore his MCL as that usually occurs when the knee is bent sideways, which would mean he tore PCL, LCL and ACL. Hopefully I'm wrong.
And a whole lot of meniscus damage is very possible. This will not be an easy rehab!

His injury was a lot worse. Lattimore tore every ligament, dislocated his knee, and had nerve damage.

I recall a very graphic image showing a similar injury to a UT back several years ago. I'm pretty sure it was Montario Hardesty. Had that picture at one time, but I think his leg bent in a similar way to Chubb. Hardesty did recover and go on to the NFL, but I don't think he was ever the same after.

That was David Holbert...you dont recover from those type of injuries man

You're correct. Thanks. Googled the image and Holbert's injury looked more severe than Chubb. Hope Chubb can come back from this. Just hate to see something like that happen to anyone.

When my daughter tore her ACL playing soccer, the doctor said its not the ACL tear that affects the player's future. He said many pro athletes tear the ACL and have long careers without issue if the meniscus is minimally damaged. If it's damaged it can drastically shorten or end their career.

Actually, with a posterior dislocation. The only thing you wouldn't damage is the ACL.

This thread makes me feel warm inside. Both because the kid is expected to be ok and because its happening on this board. Every injury makes me sick inside no matter what team. I won't lie, when its the other team I do kind of hope its for the rest of the game but that's it. I just hope maybe he got a lot of air knocked out of him worst case. Call me a sissy, but I wish injury on no man even my enemy. Unless he snaps into my slimjim and then its on.
